T3 Motion Inc., a Costa Mesa manufacturer of single-rider stand-up electric vehicles, has received a $309,000 order for more vehicles from Mexico's law enforcement agencies.

Distributor TSN (Telecomunicaciones y Servicios del Norte) has already sold more than $1.2 million in T3 vehicles in Mexico. The electric vehicles are currently used by law enforcement and private security companies in Mexico for such jobs as tourist safety patrols in Acapulco and plaza security in Nuevo Laredo and Guadalajara.

T3 CEO Ki Nam said, "With this successful reorder, TSN has become our top-selling and most successful distributor."

T3's sales strategy is to target law enforcement departments and defense agencies worldwide. It recently has reported sales to South Africa (valued at $391,000), France (42 vehicles), Argentina (28 vehicles), the Pentagon and the New York Police Department.

In January, Nam said, "Expanding into six continents is the next milestone in our market strategy."

The T3 single-rider vehicle costs at less than 10 cents a day to operate at speeds up to 15 miles per hour. Usually, a vehicle has two rechargeable batters to extend its range.
