The Mexican government and non-profit organizations teamed up Tuesday to award college grants totaling $60,000 to 169 students in San Diego County.

One of the winners was Manuel Lopez, 42, who proved that it’s never too late to go back to school.

The San Ysidro resident, who is a first-year student at Alliant International University, said the grant will give him a chance to pursue his dream of obtaining a college degree.

I have mixed feelings on this. I think they should be contributing to K-12 schools. We have to educate all kids, we don't get the choice of saying our tax dollars only should go to American citizens.

As for college I am against all ethnic scholarships. I think it is unfair and unbalanced. Just imagine what would happen if someone set up a European/White Scholarship.
