Raeford man accused of impregnating 11-year-old

Raeford, N.C. — A Raeford man faces child sex charges after he allegedly got an 11-year-old girl pregnant, the Hoke County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.

Victor Miguel Ramirez, 33, was arrested Saturday after authorities were called to Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg about the child, investigators said.

Ramirez was jailed under a $1 million bond on two counts of first-degree statutory rape.

Authorities have not said how Ramirez knows the child or how long the girl has been pregnant, saying only that the alleged crimes happened between May 1 and Dec. 20.
