UGA Professor Sought in Deadly Shooting
ATHENS, Ga. - Authorities say three people were killed and another three were wounded in a shooting near the Athens Community Theater Saturday afternoon.
Police say the gunman is University of Georgia Marketing professor George Zinkhan.
Zinkhan is described as a white man in his mid 50s with a goatee or beard. He may be wearing a polo shirt, blue shorts, and a backpack. His address is listed in Bogart, Georgia.
Update: Police are looking for Zinkhan's 2005 Red Jeep Liberty,with Georgia Tag: AIX 1376
Use extreme caution if contact is made, Zinkhan may be armed and dangerous. Call 911 if you know his location.
The Athens Community Theater is located behind the Taylor-Grady House on Prince Avenue. The "Town and Gown Players" were in production of "Sherlock Holmes" at the theater. Tonight's scheduled performance has been cancelled according to the group's Web Site.

Zinkhan graduated in 1974 with a B.A. in English Lit. from Swarthmore College. He got an M.B.A. in operations research from the University of Michigan in 1979, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Michigan in 1981.
