Man stabs Chino Hills woman to death

CHINO HILLS - The horror of a brutal murder, apparently the result of a domestic dispute Tuesday, has shaken the calm of the Higgins Ranch neighborhood.
Sheriff's detectives are investigating the fatal stabbing of a Chino Hills woman after neighbors in the 15700 block of Sedona Drive called 9-1-1 at 1:35 p.m. to report seeing a man stab a woman in the street.
Police did not immediately release the name of the alleged killer and victim, but San Bernardino County sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Beavers said the victim, aged 33, was the wife of the 39-year-old suspect. They had been estranged.
The suspect confronted the victim around 1:30 p.m. and stabbed her inside her home, Beavers said. The victim was able to free herself and run down the street but the suspect chased her in his vehicle and stabbed her again where she collapsed in the driveway of an empty home. Deputies arrested the suspect without incident after finding him sitting on the curb, she said.
Several neighbors identified the victim as Iman Wahid, 33, who lived with her three children near the corner of Stone Ridge and Sedona drives in Higgins Ranch. They also identified the suspect as Samir Wahid, 39.
"I'm just shocked," said Jeannie Morley, who lives near the crime scene. "I feel awful for the kids. They seemed like a nice family."
Another neighbor, Denise Koerber, also expressed disbelief near the crime scene.
