A History Lesson for the Tea Party

President Obama has played the role of Edward I. Edward led a crusade in the Holy Land. Barack Obama led a crusade in Chicago. Both crusades accomplished little. Edward used parliament to tax and spend. Obama has used Congress to spend and continues threatening to raise taxes. Edward punished the Welsh who yearned to be free. Obama destroyed the Blue Dog Democrats who once were free to vote as they pleased.

The Democrats in Congress have played the role of Edward's parliament. They are the fat cats that do the President's bidding.

The Republicans have played the role of the Scottish gentry. Their leaders have been weak and they kowtow rather than fight.

The Tea Party is the army of William Wallace. They have fought against a stronger and more organized enemy and have given courage to the Republicans.
After November 2nd, the Tea Party and the Republicans need to decide two things. The first is whether they plan to follow Wallace to failure at Falkirk or follow Bruce to Freedom at Bannockburn. The second is whether Sarah Palin will play the role of Wallace or Bruce or another. Wallace was the spark, but it was Bruce who became the fire that burned England's hold on Scotland.

The Tea Party and the Republicans need to find their Robert Bruce. If the members and leaders are wise and humble enough to be shown the way, Bannockburn and freedom are within arm's reach.

Beware of the father of the Bruce for he is deceit and betrayal. Only when the Bruce sheds off those who would manipulate and control him for his/their personal interests (as his father tried to do) will he become worthy of leadership.
