More Poignant: Red Lipstick on a Pig, Or Green Envy...

More Poignant: Red Lipstick on a Pig, Or Green Envy on an Outsmarted Community Organizer?
    Wednesday, 10 September 2008
    By John W. Lillpop

A bitterly chastened Barack Obama is striking out like a rattlesnake in heat now that a gun-toting grandma from Alaska has stolen his thunder, absconded with his female voters, fleeced five million dollars from Chicago donors who should know better, and ripped off his mojo.

This is what happens in the big leagues of politics when a sexist community organizer casts off a 60s-something feminist and her 18 million votes like so many worthless American flags at a Democratic convention.
Things have gotten so nasty for the Messiah that some experts are no longer certain that the Anointed One will be resurrected and seated at the Right hand of power come November 4.

As one would expect from a community organizer who has never held a real job with adult responsibilities, Barack Obama is not handling this CHANGE well.

He was supposed to be the cool, calm, and collected miracle worker who, we were told, was so charismatic and personable that terrorists like Osama bin Laden and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad would be hypnotized into helpless submission just by gazing into his Jihad eyes.

Terrorists who would normally enthuse at the prospects of stoning a woman to death for the unconscionable act of being a rape victim would be converted into Red Cross volunteers after just three or four minutes of spiritual meditation with the Anointed One.

However, all of that style and class escaped from Obama's persona when he slithered from the gutter and declared "Lipstick on a pig, still a pig," an ugly comment created by slimy left-wing bloggers in Obama's name.

At first blush, John McCain and Sarah appeared outraged by the Obama slam.

Until, that is, pollsters started to report that Obama's sexist drivel was driving women to the McCain-Palin ticket in droves.

Now the McCain-Palin team is praying that Obama will say something equally as idiotic again, as soon as possible.

Given enough Obama public statements to feast on, the McCain-Palin may be able to win the election without the need to campaign further.

Speak to us again, Holy Community Organizer!

'Lipstick on a pig' and 'it's still a pig'
Obama gets standing ovation for remark, McCain camp calls it unbridled sexism

Barack Obama jabbed at John McCain and Sarah Palin's idea of "change" today when he said, "You can put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig."

The complete statement from Obama was: "John McCain says he's about change, too, and so I guess his whole angle is 'Watch out, George Bush, except for economic policy, health care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy and Karl Rove-style politics – we're really going to shake things up in Washington!' That's not change ... you know, you can put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig."

His supporters cheered, with many giving him a standing ovation.

He continued, "You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink. We've had enough of the same old thing."

Some say Obama's "lipstick" comment at a town-hall event in Virginia was aimed at Palin in response to her joke at the Republican National Convention. She said, "You know the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick."

After McCain chose Palin to be his vice presidential running mate, the Obama campaign began its assault by mocking her town and calling her a "former mayor" even though she is a governor.

Obama said, "[I]t is not going to be easy ... John McCain has a compelling biography, you know Sarah Palin is an interesting story."

    The crowd booed.

"No, she's new!" Obama said. "She hasn't been on the scene, you know, she's got five kids and my hat goes off to anybody who's looking after five. I've got two and they tire Michelle and me out!"

McCain's campaign immediately called the Obama campaign to demand an apology.

"Sen. Obama ... uttered what I can only describe to be disgusting comments, comparing our vice presidential nominee, Sarah Palin, to a pig," said former Massachusetts Gov. Jane Swift, calling it unbridled sexism.

According to ABC News, Obama senior adviser Robert Gibbs claims the lipstick comment was not meant to be a jab at Palin.

"That's an old expression," he said.

Howard Wolfson, the former campaign chief for Hillary Clinton, told Fox News, "There's no question [Obama] was referring to John McCain and not Sarah Palin, and to suggest anything to the contrary is ridiculous."

Lipstick was mentioned elsewhere on the Obama campaign today.

Missouri Rep. Russ Carnahan, introducing Joe Biden, referring to McCain's choice of Palin for vice president, stated: "For all his tough talk, he buckled to the right wing of his party in his choice. And picked someone with zero experience in national government, zero experience in foreign affairs, and there's no way you can dress up that record, even with a lot of lipstick."

McCain has used the lipstick phrase, too, acording to the Associated Press.

Last year while criticizing health proposals from the Democratic presidential candidates, he said Hillary Clinton's resembled the failed plan she offered as first lady during the 1990s.

"I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig," McCain of her proposal.

Yep, it's an old expression and one used quite frequently, in and out of the political arena. Really no biggie, in and of itself.

However, used by Obama and his camp, it's not unreasonable to assume that it may have actually been used with derogatory intent toward Sarah Palin.

See, that's the risk one takes when one allows himself, his campaign and supporters to resort to uncalled for, tactless, tastless, offensive, disgusting, personal attacks on this woman, her family, and, especially, her children.....up to, and including, a defenseless infant with Down Syndrome.

After that kind of low class conduct, people tend to scrutinize words, and the intent behind them, just a little bit more closely than, perhaps, they may have in the past.

Put on your big boy pants and suck it up Obama.

Obama is simply trying to remind folks that a vote for McCain-Palin is a vote for Bush. You would think with the economy as bad as it is, people would see for themselves, but since we're a nation of non-thinkers, many are attracted to Palin for reasons other than her track record.
Have you not noticed how McCain is trying to steal Obama's call for change. McCain and his camp are letting Palin spread half truths about things she's done - chef, jet on ebay, bridge.
The point Obama was trying to make is simple: The McCain camp thinks you're stupid. "Oh, have you seen the bump in the polls for McCain after Palin was announced?" LOL

Obama just needs a telepromptor surgically attached to his head. Then he'll be able to complete all his sentences and focus his thoughts.

I've noticed that Obama attacks anyone who dares disagree with him or take his every word as gospel. Knowing this, I believe he most certainly meant the pig comment for Palin. Another reason I'm positive this is the case? Palin's a fisherwoman, he couldn't resist mentioning stinking fish.

There are a number of other sayings he could have used, such as making a silks purse out of a sow's ear. But no, he had to use lipstick and fish.

I'm sure you all had certain "friends" in middle and high school who professed to be your best friends for life, but as soon as your back was turned, they'd be the first ones dishing the dirt. Obama kinda reminds me of these so called "friends".

Yep, his speech writers certainly fouled that speech up. Le'ts hope for their continued employment with the Obama campaign.

I totally agree Miguelina. There were plenty of other things he could have said and he didn't. He even had the option of asking his writers to change his "script" so as to avoid any appearance that he was intentionally making offensive remarks about Mrs. Palin. And he didn't.

Then when called on it, what does he do but pull out his old standby "That's not what I meant" and "I was misunderstood".

For one, how much more is he going to try and skate away using those excuses? And secondly, even if that wasn't what he intended and he was misunderstood, shouldn't a sense of tact and diplomacy......both very much demanded of a President.....dictate that he apologize for any misunderstanding?

He hasn't done that but just continues smirking and offering his same pathetic excuses while attacking everyone for "overreacting".

If he's so incompetent that he cannot even open his mouth without being "misunderstood", or "misspeaking", or offending half of the world population, then he's got no business being in the WH just based on that alone.
