Deputies Find 400+ Pounds of Marijuana in Storage Building

Deputies in Alamance County arrested three people after officers discovered 464 pounds of marijuana inside a storage building after receiving a tip from the public regarding alleged drug activity.

The sheriff's office said it located 464.55 pounds of marijuana, over $4,000 and a handgun inside a building on Stockard Road. Three people were charged with trafficking marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute, and keeping a controlled substance.

The three people arrested were 40-year-old Modesto Solorzano Cruz, 38-year-old Olga Cruz Jimenez, and 16-year-old Rosendo Solorzano.

The bond for Cruz and Jimenez was set at $100,000. Solorzano's bond is $50,000.

All three are being held in the Alamance County Jail.
