Beware of Government Praise of ObamaCare – Facts Tell Different Story

In today’s mail I got this very official looking envelope from the Department of Health & Human Services, complete with a note above my name and address stating, “Important Information from Medicare. (But also the Spanish version; I couldn’t find the French, Greek or even the Muslim version) Informacion Importante de Medicare.â€

Honestly my friends who have socialized healthcare in their nations of origin tell me it is much better than here. Many of them travel to their nations of origin annually to get all their medical needs met. I also got really turned off to the right wing radio talking heads who all spouted the same talking point factoids verbatim - some of which were overt lies. The most blatant among them being that the young people choose to not purchase insurance. They want us to believe that it is not because they can't find a stable job that offers insurance that they can afford to purchase - it is because they choose not to purchase it. I remember being in that demographic and even then it was not at all easy to find a job that also provided insurance that I could afford to purchase. They are trying to say that the young people who are at the age to marry and have children - don't know that purchasing health insurance is important and CHOOSE not to have it?

So I have found that I do not have one source for information that I can trust on every issue and most I cannot trust for most issues. The only option for me is to read the whole dang thing myself and I really am not up for the job.

I meant to ask - we did not get this letter - why not?
