Thread: A NEW Oath?

The economy was a lot worse in '82 than now. THe GDP actually grew 1.8% in '08, even though there was a fourth quarter decline of 3.8. It was a negative 1.6 in '82. Several thousand banks collapsed in the Depression and unemployment was in the double digits for years. We are far from a Great Depression.

Obama continues to talk down the economy because he has to, if he wants to get all these political payback programs passed. Hope seems to have gone out the window and now it's "things are going to get worse" being constantly thrown at us. A President should be preaching from an optimistic stance rather than reminding people just how bad things are.

If everybody pays around $500 per month, it will take over 4 generations to pay off Obama's "stimulus" package.

Thanks for clearing that up, jp..I was really starting to wonder..Thing is, if this was true, would Gates step up against Obama and yell Foul?
