WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. —There are two different ways you can vote before the March 3 primary in North Carolina: absentee ballots and early voting polls.
Absentee ballots

To vote by absentee ballot, an absentee ballot request form must be filled out and returned to the County Board of Elections by 5 p.m. Feb. 25.

An absentee ballot will be mailed to the designated address, where the individual will mark who they vote for.

The ballot must be mailed back by the deadline of 5 p.m. March 3 to count as a vote. Anything received after this deadline will not be counted.

Early voting

Voters can go to special locations designated in each county across North Carolina to vote before the March 3 primary date.

Early voting takes place between Feb. 13 and Feb. 29.

To find locations in your county, you can visit the North Carolina Board of Elections website.

Photo identification is not required during voting, after a federal district court judge blocked a new state law that would have made it mandatory.
