Charges Filed In Deadly Motorcycle Accident

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Police said Wednesday that a woman was charged with involuntary manslaughter in a deadly March accident involving a motorcycle and truck.
Aurora Lopez Vera was released on a $25,000 unsecured bond, according to a statement from investigators. She was assigned a court date of July 21.
The motorcycle operator, Kevin Clifford McCool, 19, was traveling north on Reynolda Road on March 29, when a truck in the center turn lane tried to turn right onto Winona Street, authorities said.
The 2002 Honda motorcycle hit the right rear portion of the truck. McCool was declared dead at the scene.
