Obama “birther” activist Jerome Corsi may have been caught up in a “perjury trap” by special counsel Robert Mueller — and expects to be indicted.

NBC’s Ken Dilanian tweeted Monday evening that Corsi had spoken with Mueller’s investigators a week prior and that they told him he will be indicted for perjury.

Jerome Corsi, a political commentator who was recently subpoenaed to testify in Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation — told ABC News on Monday that he’s expecting an indictment from the special counsel soon.

“I don’t know what they’re going to charge me with. … I think my only crime was that I support Donald Trump. That's my crime, and now I'm going to go to prison for the rest of my life for cooperating with them.”

Details: Corsi was a prominent figure behind the birther conspiracy, which falsely claimed President Obama was born outside the U.S. He has connections to former Trump adviser Roger Stone Jr.

Mueller is a disgrace. So shameful what he is doing. Unbelievably depraved. What I don't understand at all, other than the obvious, is why these otherwise intelligent well-informed Americans agreed to cooperate with a Witch Hunt to begin with and didn't simply say "No, I'm not helping you, I support Donald Trump. Period. If you try to subpoena me, I will fight the subpoena in court on lack of probable cause grounds, and if I lose, I will take the Fifth Amendment."

The reason good people cooperate with investigations at their own peril is because they believe themselves innocent to begin with and want to be good citizens.

Every American needs to write down what I just said on a 3 x 5 card and tape it to their refrigerator. If you believe in the First Amendment, then you must exercise your rights under the Fifth Amendment when your First Amendment rights are challenged by government prosecutors. Most people think the First Amendment is "free speech", no, it's much more than cursing in public or publishing nasty pictures, it's your right to free association, it's your actual freedom to think, to do, to express, to mingle, to explore, to move, to travel, to meet, to learn, to teach, to share, to question, to discuss, to market, to promote, it is your political freedom, which when you get down to it is really the only freedom you have left.

Jerome Corsi, a conservative writer and associate of President Donald Trump and GOP operative Roger Stone, is reportedly in plea negotiations with Special Counsel Robert Mueller, sources said Friday.

A person with knowledge of the alleged talks told The Washington Post that Corsi has been working with Mueller's team, which is investigating alleged collusion between Trump's presidential campaign and Russian officials, on a possible agreement that could lead him to plead guilty in exchange for leniency.

The newspaper noted that the reported talks could help Mueller determine whether Trump or other campaign advisers had any ties to WikiLeaks' 2016 release of hacked Democratic emails.

Corsi's attorney David Gray and a spokesman for the special counsel declined to comment on the reported negotiations, as did an attorney for Trump, the newspaper reported.

Is having "ties to WikiLeaks" against the law in the United States? What happened to our "free press"? I thought journalists, writers, authors and every other person in the United States had the right to seek the truth wherever it leads and publish it? Is this not so? Or is the First Amendment only reserved for DemoQuacks?

I like WikiLeaks. It was fun during the 2016 election to watch and see what they had found and published. What is the difference between WikiLeaks and the New York Times and the Washingon Post or Reuters or BBC? Sorry, but I don't see a difference. They all publish information that is illegally obtained. So, unless you can catch the individuals who illegally obtained the information which wasn't Corsi, wasn't Stone, and wasn't WikiLeaks, then you're just ruining lives and embarrassing the United States in ways that mock our country all to try to prove Trump had something to do with it, when you already know he didn't have anything to do with it.

The Mueller investigation was a Hoax against the Innocent from the git-go and has blossomed into a Full Force Farce against the American people, violating the civil rights of every person they've interviewed, charged and prosecuted.

Well, no, people are confused about that. To be legally charged with lying to the FBI or federal investigators, your "lies" have to be "material" to the criminal investigation in a way and manner that throws the investigation off it's crime-solving track. If the criminal investigation is an illegal hoax to begin with because there is no crime-solving track to be on, because there is no crime to investigate in the first place, then nothing you said to the FBI or federal investigators is "material" to the criminal investigation, because the criminal investigation is a lie in and unto itself.

In Washington people don't go to prison for the original crime.

They go to prison for the attempted cover-up.
