NY GOV. CUOMO: PRO-LIFE, PRO-GUN, PRO-MARRIAGE CONSERVATIVES 'HAVE NO PLACE IN THE STATE'

by BREITBART NEWS 17 Jan 2014

On Friday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D), who has been widely discussed as a possible 2016 presidential candidate, toldSusan Arbetter of The Capitol Pressroom that “extreme conservatives” should leave the state. He said that “extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay” have “no place in the state of New York.”

He began by ripping into the Tea Party without naming it:

You have a schism within the Republican Party. … They’re searching to define their soul, that’s what’s going on. Is the Republican party in this state a moderate party or is it an extreme conservative party? That’s what they’re trying to figure out. It’s a mirror of what’s going on in Washington. The gridlock in Washington is less about Democrats and Republicans. It’s more about extreme Republicans versus moderate Republicans.

    He then added:

You’re seeing that play out in New York. … The Republican Party candidates are running against the SAFE Act — it was voted for by moderate Republicans who run the Senate! Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.

New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo says people who are pro-life, pro 2nd Amendment, and/or pro-traditional marriage “have no place in the state of New York.” Gov. Cuomo is an idiot!

Glenn excoriates NY Governor for telling ‘extreme conservatives’ to get out

Monday, Jan 20, 2014 at 1:22 PM EST

    Video at the Page Link:

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo made headlines over the weekend for comments he made about “extreme conservatives” in New York State. During an interview with Susan Arbetter on WCNY radio on Friday, Cuomo criticized “right-to-life,” “pro-assault weapon,” “anti-gay” conservatives:
CUOMO: The Republican Party candidates are running against the SAFE Act — it was voted for by moderate Republicans who run the Senate!
Cuomo did lend his support to the “moderate Republicans” that have consistently worked with Democrats to pass his agenda. But he urged the “extreme conservatives” to “figure out if your extreme conservative philosophy can survive in this state and the answer is no.”
On radio this morning, Glenn questioned whether or not the New York outpost of TheBlaze would still be welcome in the state given the company’s pro-life, pro-Second Amendment stance. Furthermore, Glenn questioned what Cuomo meant by the term “anti-gay” for he couldn’t think anyone who is against a homosexual’s right to live and work in society.
The governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, said some conservatives have no place in the state of New York. ‘Extreme conservative’ – the right-to-life, pro-assault weapon, and anti-gay have no place in the state of New York because that’s not what we as New Yorkers are.
Wow, I didn’t know you could speak for everybody in New York. And I don’t even know what ‘anti-gay’ means. You’ll have to be more specific because I’m the guy who holds two out of those three opinions. They’re the first two. The third is: I stand with members of GLAAD or anybody who is a fascist and says you don’t have a right to live, you don’t have a right to work, you don’t have a right to pursue your happiness. I’ll stand against anybody who is a fascist, whether it’s a heterofascist or a homofascist. I’ll stand against you. And I will join with anybody who understands what fascism is because I still find these things self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they’re endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights. And nobody can change them.
Now, Andrew Cuomo says, who are these extreme conservatives who are right to life, pro-assault weapon and anti-gay… because that’s not who New Yorkers are. Well, I’d like to ask a few questions.
If you’re a moderate conservative, does that mean you’re okay with killing half the babies? Is there a number, Governor Cuomo, because right-to-life doesn’t make you a moderate to, say, half the babies? By the way, the numbers in your state fall apart… Right now it is up to five months… you can come in and kill your baby. But once you go above five months, everything starts to change with your constituents… Most people will say they’re absolutely pro-life, with an exception of incest, rape, and life of the mother. That’s where the numbers start to really get strong. And that doesn’t seem extremist. That seems rational to me. That seems like somebody who has a heart. Now, I know there are a lot of people that say, I don’t agree with that. And quite honestly, Governor, I wish I could join them. I wish I could be that way. But my heart won’t let me join them… But I don’t condemn them… I want to learn from them. And I might find that they’re absolutely right. I might find that they’re absolutely wrong. But I will decide that.
When it comes to the Second Amendment, let me ask you something: What kind of gun is okay? Because if I take the metal or the plastic off of an AR, I pretty much have a deer rifle. It’s only that we’ve spray painted them black and made them look spooky. Yes, they’re semi-automatics, but so are semi-automatic guns. Lee Harvey Oswald killed with the bolt action, so he had to put another round in the chamber himself. But look at the damage he did. So where is the line here? Is it only the ones that are spooky looking and painted black? Are deer rifles okay? And if I made an AR look like a deer rifle, I’m sure, Governor, you wouldn’t know the difference. Would that be okay? I want to know where the line is on guns because I really thought abortions should be safe and rare. I thought that was your position. Now it’s anybody who is pro-life is an extremist. Right now you’re saying ‘assault weapons’, but all of the laws that are being enacted in the state of New York are not just against assault weapons. They’re against any weapon.
And I’m sorry, Governor, but I don’t know anybody who is anti-gay. And if they do, I would be the first to point them out and say, ‘That person hates gay people because they’re gay.’ There are gay people that I don’t like. It has nothing to do with their sexuality. There are straight people I don’t like. It has nothing to do with they’re sexuality. I think basing your like and dislike on somebody’s sexuality is one of the most moronic things I’ve heard. How about on this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day we judge the man by the content of his character… because I have a dream today that someday liberals and conservatives, our children can go and play together, and learn together, and be together. I have a dream today that I’m not a second-class citizen in this country.
My good friend, Pastor Hutcherson, died a few months ago. He was a black man who watched the freedom buses burn. He watched them burn. He watched his own people beaten. He hated Martin Luther King when he was young because he wanted revenge. And then he found the Lord. And that changed his heart. He no longer wanted revenge. He was thirsty for love. And he spent his whole life trying to find people who are like-minded, that understood anger and rage is not the answer. Love is the answer. If you say that people who are pro-life, pro-assault weapon, and however you define anti-gay don’t have a place in your society and in your state, I don’t think I have a place in your state… I don’t want to live in a country where we round people up for their opinion. The arrogance is astounding from the left.
Cuomo’s office has since come out and said the governor’s comments were “distorted.” The office points to another portion of the interview in which Cuomo says “it is fine” to oppose gun control measures and to be anti-abortion, adding that “he respects both positions.”

You can listen to the entire interview HERE. (Applicable audio begins around 9 minute 20 seconds)

Gov. Cuomo: Pro-life people not welcome in New York

    By Charlie Spiering

    Published January 20, 2014

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo believes that pro-life activists along with anti-gay activists, and supporters of the Second Amendment, are not welcome in his state.

During a radio interview on Friday, Cuomo pointed out that Republicans were in the midst of a schism, where conservatives worked against moderate Republicans.

"Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves," he said. "Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are."

State Republicans blasted his comments, the New York Post reported, even as the governor walked them back on Sunday in an open letter to the newspaper.

SEAN HANNITY TO LEAVE NEW YORK AFTER ANDREW CUOMO'S ANTI-CONSERVATIVE RANT

    by JEFFREY POOR
    20 Jan 2014, 4:40 PM PDT 1204 POST A COMMENT

In a radio interview last week, Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) made some disparaging comments about pro-life conservatives, stating they had “no place in the state of New York because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”

Those remarks drew the ire of conservative talk show host Sean Hannity, who on his Monday radio program declared he had enough and was abandoning his home state, where he hosts his widely syndicated radio show and his high-rated Fox News Channel television program.
“Now I want to tell you something – I was born and raised in New York,” Hannity said. “I want you to know that and I can’t wait to get out of here. I really can’t. I don’t want to pay their 10-percent state tax anymore. I live in the second-highest property taxed county in the entire country in Nassau County. I can’t wait to sell my house to somebody who wants it. I can’t wait to pay no state income tax down in Florida or Texas. I haven’t decided yet, but I’m leaning Florida because I like the water and I like to fish.”
Hannity has hosted a radio show in New York City since the late 1990s. In 2001, the show was syndicated and has since filled the current 3 p.m. ET to 6 p.m. ET time slot. He will be following in the footsteps of conservative radio talkers Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck, who had also fled the Empire State for Florida and Texas, respectively.
“Gov. Cuomo, I’m going to leave and I’m taking all of my money with me – every single solitary penny,” he added. “And by the way governor, because I work here – there’s a whole bunch of people that work for me and benefit because I do two shows. And I guess maybe some of them will be out of work, governor. I’m sure you’ll take care of them.”

Alabama Governor Extends Welcome Mat to Shunned NY Conservatives: Come on Down!

Earlier this week, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo declared that “right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay” conservatives are not welcome in his state.

Fortunately, those “extreme conservatives” have a place to go: Sweet Home Alabama.

On Monday, Alabama Governor Dr. Robert Bentley had a simple message for them. FromYellowhammer News:

“In Alabama we strongly support and uphold our great U.S. Constitution on which our nation and our states were founded,” Bentley told Yellowhammer. “The Constitution serves to protect individual Freedoms. Among them are those guaranteed in the Second Amendment, which protects the right of the people to keep and bear Arms. We will protect the Freedoms of individuals and welcome any one or any company to Alabama to discover as so many have, that we are a pro-business state filled with good, hardworking people.”

“Alabama has so much for people to enjoy, from our warm sunny beaches to our beautiful lakes and rivers,” Bentley said. “We’re proud of the cultural diversity that makes our state so unique, and we welcome New Yorkers and anyone to experience for themselves what makes our state so great.”

Since his election, Governor Bentley has been an outspoken supporter of conservative talking points and has worked with the state legislature to issue some of the nation’s toughestimmigration and abortion laws.

Alabama House Speaker Mike Hubbard joined Governor Bentley in welcoming New Yorkers to Alabama:

    Post by Mike Hubbard.

The comments made over the weekend by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo are reprehensible. If he doesn't want hard working pro-life and pro-2nd Amendment people in his state, we will gladly take them here in Alabama. Like this post if you agree with me that Gov. Cuomo should be ashamed of himself.

Now, before everyone starts throwing around the inevitable string of jokes that is to follow, I’d like to point out that, unfortunately, there are plenty of racists, rednecks and hypocrites in every state. However, as an Alabamian myself, I’m happy to extend our noteworthy hospitality to anyone who wants it. We’d love to have y’all!

New York now has a state landlord. And he wants to evict most of the population...New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo blasted people who oppose his push for gun control, unfettered abortion and gay marriage. Cuomo said those who are “right to life, pro-assault weapon, anti-gay”…they’re “extreme conservatives,” and they “have no place in the state of New York.” That’s odd, I thought a lot of New Yorkers were pro-life Catholics. In fact, his own father, former Gov. Mario Cuomo, supported legal abortion but claimed to be personally pro-life. He’d better start packing. And so should a lot of New Yorkers. A poll last year found that 80 percent of them oppose unlimited abortion. But then, thanks to high-tax, leftwing policies like those of Andrew Cuomo, between 2000 and 2010, about one-and-a-half-million people already moved out of New York, taking their unapproved political views and their taxable income with them. Let’s hope they found a new state that’s less liberal and more tolerant.

I am somewhat glad to know that Cuomo wants pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, and pro-marriage people like me out of New York. I pay a lot of taxes in both the state of New York and New York City because I do my Fox show from there. I'm sure both the left wing Governor and socialist Mayor are embarrassed to be taking money from someone like me who they despise. My presence there provides jobs for a number of people, but I don't live there and actually come only in order to tape my Fox show. I'll look forward to getting an exemption from paying the ridiculous high taxes in New York state and New York City since my "kind" and my money are surely not something that's welcome in the Empire State. Why any company on earth would domicile in New York City with it's animosity toward business is beyond me.

Could Southern States Benefit From Cuomo’s Hatred Of Conservatives?

January 21, 2014 by Sam Rolley

New York’s Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo said during a radio spot last week that “extreme conservatives, who are right-to-life, pro-assault weapon, anti-gay… have no place in the state of New York.” The Governor complains that his comment was about politicians, not residents, and is being taken out of context— but some New York conservatives are already expressing that they don’t want to live in a State so unwelcoming to their values.
Conservative pundit and native New Yorker Sean Hannity has already publically announced that he plans to heed Cuomo’s admonition and take his conservatism elsewhere.
Hannity told his audience that he plans to head down South to either Texas or Florida.
Hannity will be following the lead of other conservative pundits like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck who have left New York, along with the money and employment opportunities that surround their media companies. Limbaugh currently produces his show from Florida; Beck headed to Texas.
“Governor Cuomo, I’m going to leave and I’m taking all of my money with me – every single solitary penny,” he added. “And by the way governor, because I work here – there’s a whole bunch of people that work for me and benefit because I do two shows. And I guess maybe some of them will be out of work, governor. I’m sure you’ll take care of them.”
For other disenfranchised conservatives in the Empire State looking for a place to relocate, Alabama Governor Robert Bentley is rolling out the red carpet.
