Obama On Guns: ‘Speeches Aren’t Enough’ So Why Does He Keep Giving Them, And Giving Them, And Giving Them?

President Obama is in full exploitation mode as he is marking the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting 100 day anniversary today. In measured and thoughtful tones as he took advantage of the Sandy Hook tragedy with moms of children who died from gun violence behind him, he took the gun debate and pointed it squarely at Republicans to pass his gun control agenda that is in the Senate right now.

The heart of the Senate gun bill will be expanded requirements for federal background checks for gun buyers and increased penalties for illegal gun sales and boosted aid for school safety. Sadly though, nothing in the bill before the Senate right now, does anything at all that would have prevented the shooting at Sandy Hook.

President Obama exclaimed in his speech at the White House, flanked by moms who have lost children to gun violence, "Shame on us if we've forgotten, I haven't forgotten those kids." Well no, I don't think any of us have forgotten those kids, but unfortunately the President is trying his level best to seriously take advantage of the situation.

One of the curious things Obama said at the White House ceremony today was that, "speeches aren't enough." Don't you think that's a bit hypocritical coming from the man who is the Exploiter-in-Chief and has traveled around the country on Air Force One, at a huge expense to the taxpayer, giving speech after speech after speech tearing down America, denigrating wealthy people, pushing failed solar and green energy schemes, propping up corrupt unions and all manner of things to force his agenda on the America people?

"And that's my attitude, tears aren't enough. Expressions of sympathy aren't enough. Speeches aren't enough. We've cried enough. We've known enough heartbreak. What we're proposing is not radical. It's not taking away anybody's gun rights. It's something that, if we are serious, we will do. And now's the time to turn that heartbreak into something real. It won't solve every problem, there will still be gun deaths, there will still be tragedies, there will still be violence, there will still be evil. But we can make a difference, if, not just the activists here on the stage, but the general public, including responsible gun owners say, you know what, we can do better than this. We can do better to make sure that fewer parents have to endure the pain of losing a child to an act of violence."
