DHS policy paper on Human RFID implants

If you ever wondered how you might go about tagging and tracking a human being remotely (all the while being told that it isn't worth it), here you go.

Automatic identification technologies1 like RFID have valuable uses, especially in connection with tracking things for purposes such as inventory management. RFID is particularly useful where it can be embedded within an object, such as a shipping container.

There appear to be specific, narrowly defined situations in which RFID is appropriate for human identification. Miners or firefighters might be appropriately identified using RFID because speed of identification is at a premium in dangerous situations and the need to verify the connection between a card and bearer is low

Naturally, the conclusion of the paper admits that RFID is no more secure than existing means of digital identification.

The use of RFID would predispose identification systems to surveillance uses. Use of RFID in identification would tend to deprive individuals of the ability to control when they are identified and what information identification processes transfer. Finally, RFID exposes identification processes to security weaknesses that non-radio-frequency-based processes do not share.

RFID Tattoo: Cattle branding comes to the 21st Century

Somark Innovations, a small company working out of Saint Louis, has successfully tested an RFID tattoo, on cows, mice and rats: enabling an identifying number embedded under the skin to be read from over a meter away.

    ....

Somark are in the process of raising money to exploit the technology, and point out that what works for animals can, of course, also work for people; identifying Military Personnel as one of their secondary markets, after cattle and other livestock.

We must not allow this chip to be implanted.

The mark of the beast? Americans must fight this chip, it is a terrible idea.

I think there has been some version of this technology going on for a long time. My best friend's cousin, the commander of a naval base could always be found, even though he swore he never told anyone where he was going on leave. She has always been suspicious that something was implanted when he had to undergo minor surgery about 40 years ago. Even in those days, the Russian embassy could beam microwaves at the windows of government offices and pick up conversations, according to an old friend that worked at the CIA.
And I remember reading somewhere that the clubbers in NY have chips implanted with credit card info so they can sweep through the lines.
Our pets are already microchipped in case they get lost, so why not the rest of the American population?

Our Gov't wants Bio-metric control over us.

This is very dangerous technology. Our Gov't already has too much control over us. The intention behind this technology is not as innocent as people trying to keep their pets safe.
