Obama Plans To Fight ISIS By... Giving More Weapons To ISIS?

It appears that, in a rush to get his strategy out the door, President Obama overlooked his key "do nothing stupid" foreign policy plan.

So - to be clear - the strategy to defeat ISIS is to arm more of the same "rebels" that ultimately split off and became, well, ISIS?
Perhaps it's better if Obama sticks to his original "no strategy" plan after all... if only for the people, not so much the military-industrial complex of course.

Remember Those ‘Moderate’ Syrian Rebels That The U.S. Armed? ISIS Got Some Of Those Weapons Too
As the Syrian Civil War has waged on over the past few years, the United States, along with Arab states such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar, decided to arm the Syrian rebels under the “Free Syrian Army” umbrella.
The shipments of former Yugoslavian Army weapons held by the Croatians, along with newly manufactured Croatian weapons, began in November 2012, according to The Telegraph UK. The weapons were flown out of Croatia on chartered flights to Jordan and then smuggled into Syria.
Fast forward to the rise of ISIS and their blitzkreig campaign across northern Iraq. An investigation by the arms control organization Conflict Armament Research has found that various U.S. supplied weapons have wound up in the hands of ISIS.
AFP reports:

The study by the London-based small-arms research organisation Conflict Armament Research documented weapons seized by Kurdish forces from militants in Iraq and Syria over a 10-day period in July.

The report said the jihadists disposed of “significant quantities” of US-made small arms including M16 assault rifles and included photos showing the markings “Property of US Govt”.

It also found that anti-tank rockets used by IS in Syria were “identical to M79 rockets transferred by Saudi Arabia to forces operating under the Free Syrian Army umbrella in 2013?.

The U.S.-made small arm in question is the M16A4 assault rifle. It is the main service rifle of the U.S. Marine Corps and sees limited use in the U.S. Army. More importantly, thousands of them were supplied to the Iraqi Army. The source of ISIS’s M16s, along with other U.S. made weapons, is likely captured Iraqi Army stocks.
As for the M79s, they were part of the arms shipments from Croatia that were meant for the Free Syrian Army. The weapons were either captured, or acquired by former FSA fighters as they joined ISIS.

The lesson to be learned here is that foreign policy decisions often have unintended consequences. As the U.S. contemplates what future action it will take to combat ISIS, it needs to be sure to learn those lessons of the past.

How Obama’s Idea To Defeat ISIS By Arming Syrian Rebels Could Do The Opposite of What’s Intended

Part of the plan President Obama outlined in his speech last night to defeat ISIS was to arm and train the “moderate” rebels of the Free Syrian Army (FSA), who are also fighting the Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad.
Here’s what Obama said about his proposal:

Across the border, in Syria, we have ramped up our military assistance to the Syrian opposition. Tonight, I again call on Congress to give us additional authorities and resources to train and equip these fighters.

In the fight against ISIL, we cannot rely on an Assad regime that terrorizes its people; a regime that will never regain the legitimacy it has lost. Instead, we must strengthen the opposition as the best counterweight to extremists like ISIL, while pursuing the political solution necessary to solve Syria’s crisis once and for all.

President Obama has asked Congress to approve a proposal to allow the U.S. military to train the FSA to fight ISIS. However, opposition to the proposal is starting to gather, led by Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky):

“Senator Paul believes arming the same side as ISIS was and is a strategic error and would oppose such action,” Paul’s senior aide, Doug Stafford, told The Huffington Post on Wednesday.

Senator Paul might have a point, given what a FSA commander told The Daily Star newspaper in Lebanon on Monday:

“We are collaborating with the Islamic State and the Nusra Front by attacking the Syrian Army’s gatherings in … Qalamoun,” said Bassel Idriss, the commander of an FSA-aligned rebel brigade.

The al-Nusra Front is al-Qaeda’s official affiliate in Syria. Patrick Poole at PJ Media has also documented numerous ties between the FSA and its members and Islamist groups, including ISIS itself.
As IJR has previously reported, weapons that the U.S. and its allies have previously sent to the FSA were captured by Kurdish forces from ISIS. Clearly ISIS is somehow getting these weapons, so isn’t arming and training the FSA just a backdoor way of arming and training ISIS?

Last night, President Obama laid out a strategy for combating ISIS in Iraq and Syria which involved arming the Syrian “rebels.” However, after what the leader of one of the groups admitted, that’s probably not the best idea.
While speaking about the bipartisan push in Congress to approve a $4 billion package, Obama noted that the key to his plan to defeat the Islamic State terrorist group is to arm the “vetted moderate” groups against President Bashar al Assad, one of which is the Free Syrian Army. There’s a problem with this plan, however.
The leader of the FSA was quoted in the Daily Star of Lebanon saying that his group is actively working with the Islamic State as well as Jabhat al-Nusra, al Qaeda’s official Syrian affiliate, both of which are designated terrorist organizations.
From the Daily Star:

“We are collaborating with the Islamic State and the Nusra Front by attacking the Syrian Army’s gatherings in … Qalamoun,” said Bassel Idriss, the commander of an FSA-aligned rebel brigade.
“We have reached a point where we have to collaborate with anyone against unfairness and injustice,” confirmed Abu Khaled, another FSA commander who lives in Arsal.

“Let’s face it: The Nusra Front is the biggest power present right now in Qalamoun and we as FSA would collaborate on any mission they launch as long as it coincides with our values,” he added.

PJMedia notes that in a buried article by the New York Times, a Syrian rebel commander was quoted saying that his forces were working with the Islamic State and Jabhat al-Nusra along the Lebanese border, but the Times tried to dismiss his statements.
It would appear as if the Daily Star article confirms what many have feared all along. The problem is that Obama is going to go ahead with arming the so-called “moderates” which will ultimately lead to arming the Islamic State, as has been proven multiple times.
One would think that with the failures that have already occurred, the President wouldn’t be trying to press on with repeating the same policies that allowed the Islamic State to so quickly rise to power. Then again, what should we expect from someone who spends more time on the golf course than he does in his office, actually working.

The more one thinks about Barack Obama's so-called "plan" to deal with ISIS, the more one see's the complete idiocy of it. Obama has about as much military skill and comprehension as Wile E. Coyote, he's nothing more than a slick talking idiot who possesses an Acme Dynamite kit. For the last six years, he's refused to listen to some of the most brilliant military minds in the world, and when they disagreed with him, he ran them out of the service. Once again, we have an idiot president who thinks he knows better than men who have made warfare and military strategy their life's work. What I fear the most - because he's publicly committed himself to action not only in Iraq, but in Syria, as well - is that he's going to set off a chain reaction that will cause the deaths of not only American men and women, but some of the few allies that we have left in the world; and in two years, as this "non-war" drags on, he'll just retire to the golf course and never give it a second glance. Obama has shown us over the last six years that he does not hold American lives dear and doesn't care whom he put in harm's way.

He has surrounded himself with idiotic sycophants who collectively poses as much intelligence as an ounce of goose droppings. A perfect example of this would be our current National Security Adviser to the President, Susan E. Rice. Not only is she the most UN-qualified individual to hold this position, but we all know what an idiot and liar she is when she was the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Her assessment of the current situation regarding ISIS is (and I'm quoting her): "The President's actions against ISIS are 'very different' than America being at war." She has absolutely no inkling about military strategy, let alone any understanding as to the threat ISIS poses to the world. She's merely been rewarded with her new-found position for services rendered helping get the President re-elected in 2012. I am morally offended by her mere presence. And don't even get me started about John Kerry being Secretary of State - that's a whole new bag of stupid!

Because Obama's has either fired or run-off the best general officers he had, what we have left are nothing but a bunch of second stringers who are nothing but waterboys for the president, and who will do whatever he says…and that will cost us dearly. In fact, most of the officers in command of the military right now are "yes-men" to Obama. I fear the price to be paid in blood will be nothing compared to what we saw in Iraq and Afghanistan in years past.

Right now America stands on a precipice and our commander in chief is an idiot who wouldn't even know what the business end of an M-16 is. I'll take it a step further by saying that Barack Obama couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the directions were on the heel.

Our only hope to put a stop to him would be a complete Republican victory in November in the House and the re-taking of the Senate, then we could impeach him. Oh, but I forgot...John Boehner said he wouldn't do that. Maybe with enough pressure (if we win), we could change his mind, because there's a lot more damage Obama can do in two short years, if he is not stopped. You also need to remember, out southern border is not secure and it's a fact that Islamic terrorists are coming into the country from there and Obama is doing nothing to put a stop to that. Is there any doubt as to whose side he's on?

Maybe it's time the American people took matters into their own hands, because our politicians are a waste of skin.
Either way, you might want to stock-up on ammunition and food....just in-case.

Obama Has Given ISIS the Keys to Our Country

Accountability defines leadership; it defines every action in our lives. Accountability determines who has succeeded, and who has failed, who has done well and who has done evil, and it allows us to govern the path we will take going forward. Without accountability, there would be chaos. Leadership without accountability is not leadership at all, rather, it is simply power projected onto others, it is dominion. And that dominion is what the Democrats have over the American people.

As the effective fourth branch of the government, the objective of the American media should be to scrutinize our leaders, no matter their Party affiliation, to keep them on track, and to make certain that they are held accountable for their wrongdoings. But, as we all know, the American media–with few exceptions–is an appendage of the Democratic Party, and as such, it only turns its all-seeing eye on conservatives, leaving the left entirely un-watched. This has caused the left to behave more, and more recklessly. But what happens when an event occurs, the consequences of which are catastrophic, and our leadership is Democratic? What happens when the media has failed to keep us safe from reckless leaders?

According to Breitbart:
“US Representative Duncan Hunter (R-CA) reported that Border Patrol agents told him that ten ISIS fighters were caught trying to cross the southern border on Tuesday’s ‘On the Record’ on the Fox News Channel.”

Once again, according to Breitbart, Rep. Hunter continued, saying:
“ISIS is coming across the southern border…at least ten ISIS fighters have been caught coming across the Mexican border in Texas…if they [the Border Patrol] catch five or ten of them, then you know there’s going to be dozens more that did not get caught by the Border Patrol…if you want to protect Americans from ISIS, you secure them from the southern border…the only way that ISIS is going to harm Americans is by coming in through the southern border, which they already have.”

With the message from ISIS being projected near the White House, the numerous instances of ISIS related graffiti cropping up across the United States, and with this information, it is more than reasonable to believe that members of ISIS are already here. ISIS may have something devastating planned, and they may be planning it right under our noses.

Given all of this, will President Obama, having refused to do his job, which is to enforce the immigration laws of the United States, be ultimately responsible for any attack made on the United States by members of ISIS who entered through the southern border? Yes, because he has acted negligently. Obama has used the southern border as a game piece for years now, as have many Democrats in the Senate, and House. They have refused multiple times to secure the border, and if, because of their refusal to secure the border, a terrorist attack is perpetrated on the American people by members of ISIS who entered through our porous southern border, the blood of thousands, or millions will saturate their hands. But will they be held accountable? They will not hold themselves accountable, certainly, but their circumstances will have made them accountable.

When one’s actions make one indirectly responsible for a crime such as a terrorist attack, criminal prosecution is certainly warranted. Should an attack occur, because of the porousness of our border, Obama, and his colleagues will be prosecuted, because they have been criminally negligent.
I’m fearful of such an attack, and I’m afraid one is imminent. I am ashamed of the President that he has placed political gains above American lives. Through his game, in which he has tried to pressure Republicans into signing off on amnesty, our President has given ISIS the keys to the door. How long will it be before they come knocking?
