Another House Democrat Retiring

Pelosi’s majority is crumbling.
The 24th House Democrat has just announced retirement.
Dem Rep. Bobby Rush has announced he will retire.

He is currently serving his 15th term in Congress.
From NBC News:

Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., is expected to announce Tuesday that he will retire after his 15th term in Congress, making him the 24th House Democrat not to seek re-election this year.
A source close to Rush confirmed his plans late Monday. Rush, 75, a longtime civil rights activist, is expected to make a formal announcement Tuesday at a church in Chicago.
The Chicago Sun-Times first reported Rush’s plans Monday. He told the newspaper that he made the decision in recent weeks and that a conversation with a grandson played a role.
“I don’t want my grandchildren … to know me from a television news clip or something they read in a newspaper,” Rush said. “I want them to know me on an intimate level, know something about me and I want to know something about them. I don’t want to be a historical figure to my grandchildren.”
A report from The Washington Post alleged that Pelosi is going to retire after the 2022 midterms:
From Breitbart:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) “is expected” to retire after the 2022 midterms, the Washington Post reported Monday.
While rumors have been swirling for months about Pelosi’s next moves amid projections the Republican Party is to retake the House in 2022, WaPo named several successors to replace Pelosi.
“Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (N.Y.) is the early favorite to become the next Democratic leader, but the maneuvering for power has just begun,” the publication reported, also mentioning as potential candidates Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD), and Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC).
