There’s nothing like a war to either make or break a President. There’s a reason the writers of the Constitution also made the President the Commander-in-Chief because war needs a centralized authority to direct the military. A goodly number of the nation’s presidents were former leaders in war, starting with General George Washington, progressing forward to General Ike Eisenhower.

Few nations have the record of its people being extraordinarily resistant to engaging in combat unless provoked than America. Woodrow Wilson was elected with the slogan “He kept us out of the warâ€

We need to precede on ALL energy sources. If Congress would quit squabbling and the factions stop promoting only "their" favorite energy source, we could get some where.

Sure we have "proven" fossil fuel reserves and natural gas that could immediately reduce our costs and our political vulnerabilities, as well. However, Republicans, too, need to end their resistance to alternative energy sources and both parties must get behind "COST EFFECTIVE" research. ( I am not talking about the billions wasted on politically motivated "research.")

Don't believe in windpower? Tell that to the farmers in the upper plains states that live with howling winds all winter. Don't believe in bio fuels? Tell that to Sen. Chuck Grassley who, quixotically, is pushing tax credits for bio fuel research and knows there are millions of unused land that could come in to cultivation once the market demands it. What about ocean wave energy? Ever notice how rough the seas get, especially in the northern parts of the country, exactly where more power is needed at the very same time. And that is not to mention, even, the potential power available in the Gulf of Alaska.

    What happened to

What happened to National Sovereignty? Where is the "Prime Directive" that tells you you must not interfere with other nations, cultures, and peoples?
Getting involved in a countries Civil War just shows me that they do not care about other people's rights or sovereignty. This action is a GIGANTIC red flag that tells me they are out of control and will stop at nothing to force their agenda on ALL humanity whether we want it or not...
and that is a very dangerous path to proceed down.
