Know Anyone in Vermont? They Can Help Prosecute Bush
It's about time. There is a candidate for Attorney General in Vermont who makes the central part of her platform that she will prosecute George Bush. She has been on the campaign trail with legendary prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi, who wrote "The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder."
Jerry Seib, executive Washington editor of The Wall Street Journal said on the Diane Rehm Show on NPR recently that he expects Bush, Cheney, and their subordinates to be prosecuted.
The candidate is running a strong race with lots of national support. If you know anyone in Vermont, call them and have them throw her a vote. Bugliosi is the guy who convicted Charles Manson, who has won 105 out of 106 felony jury trial cases. He doesn't like to lose, or enter into losing causes. This is serious. Here is a press release from the Charlotte Dennett for Attorney General campaign. Her website is CharDennett.org
AG Challenger Dennett and Famous Prosecutor Say Vermont Has
Jurisdiction to Charge Bush
After a debate challenge by attorney general candidate Charlotte
Dennett to William Sorrell went unanswered, Dennett and famous
prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi reiterated last Friday that the state of
Vermont would have clear jurisdiction in the prosecution of George
Bush for the deaths of Vermont soldiers in Iraq. In the community
room of the Fletcher Free Library in Burlington on Oct. 24, before a
lively audience, Dennett and Bugliosi contended that the "effects"
principle of the law gave state prosecutors jurisdiction if it could
be shown that a crime which occurred outside the territorial
jurisdiction of the state had a harmful effect on the people of the
state. Vermont has the highest per capita loss of soldiers in Iraq of
any state in the nation.
In answer to a suggestion by a member of the audience that Congress
must be prosecuted as well, because it also consented to the war,
Bugliosi disagreed. He said that since the evidence presented to
Congress was fraudulent, that consent was obtained on a fraudulent
basis, and therefore not valid.
"Show me a congressman who knew, at the time that Bush was lying, that
he knew he was lying, then sure, he could be prosecuted too," said
Bugliosi.
Dennett and Bugliosi have been traveling the state together in
Dennett's campaign to unseat Attorney General William Sorrell.
Dennett says that one of her first acts as attorney general, if
elected, would be to appoint Bugliosi as Special Prosecutor against
Bush. As a Los Angeles District Attorney, Bugliosi successfully
prosecuted 105 out of 106 felony jury trials, including 21 murder
convictions without a loss. He is best known for prosecuting Charles
Manson.
At the library event, Bugliosi quoted President Calvin Coolidge, who
said: "If the spirit of liberty should vanish in other parts of the
Union and support of our institutions should languish, it could all be
replenished from the generous store held by the people of this brave
little state of Vermont."
