Pollak: Democrats Embrace Socialism Because Trump Has Seized the Middle Ground

The Democratic contenders for their party’s presidential nomination are offering the most radical policy positions since the failed presidential campaign of Sen. George McGovern (D-SD) in 1972.

From the “Green New Deal” — a socialist policy nearly every Democratic presidential candidate now supports — to “Medicare for All” and even reparations for slavery, Democrats are proposing extremist ideas that enjoy almost no support from the American electorate as a whole.

Republicans who are nervous about 2020, given the constant assault on President Donald Trump by the media and the opposition, are cheered by the Democrats’ rush to the far-left. Some note the rise of energetic, social-media-savvy “democratic socialists,” such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). Some credit the influence of Trump himself, whose success in disrupting conventional politics has encouraged Democrats to be their authentic selves.

But the real reason Democrats have become so radical may be that Trump has effectively seized the middle ground of American politics. While governing as the most conservative president since Ronald Reagan — given his judicial appointments, his staunch pro-life policies, and his rollback of the administrative state, among other policies — Trump has made his toughest political stands in favor of common-sense positions that are broadly supported by the public.

Take, for example, his fight for the border wall. Though we are often told that Americans want to offer illegal aliens a “path to citizenship,” the overwhelming majority also wants to secure the border first, so that any amnesty offered will be the last. A recent poll showed a majority of Americans preferred a border wall to the Green New Deal. Few Americans want open borders, which is the de facto position of the Democratic Party and most of its candidates.

Likewise with Trump’s stand on trade. The free-trade consensus in Washington, DC, has long been at odds with the consensus in the rest of the country, which likes the benefits of free trade but also wants the government to fight for fairness in international commerce. Thus far, Trump’s trade war with China has hurt a few industries — most notably agriculture — but the anticipated price increases have not appeared. His position is simply seen as common sense.
Few Democrats want to be seen supporting Trump. But given Trump’s ostentatious support for middle-of-the-road policies — including preserving Medicare and Social Security — the only way for them to create “clear blue water” between themselves and the incumbent has been to offer the electorate eccentric socialist dogma. Despite their contempt for Trump, he has maneuvered them into a political position from which it will be very difficult to win.

Question for Joel Pollak----are you proud of that middle ground, pushing the D's farther left? Does that middle ground include abating the invasion of our country?

You cheer on a President who is so far left, he pushes the D's over the cliff.

It is now very clear, Pollak and Breitbart are in the tank with Trump and the invasion of our country.

At least Nolte is starting to wake up, but not for the right reasons. Not to report on Trump and how he is assisting the invasion of our country. At least maybe they will wake up, and realize that Trump uses people and then dumps them, just like he used his base to get elected and then dumped them for open borders.

Now, that you are ticked off, see if you can't get Breitbart back on the right track, and STOP being a Trump cult, cheerleading site.
Start reporting on the invasion of our country, and be very honest about who is allowing that to happen.
Nolte: White House Rewards Fake News with Appearances on CNN, NBC

The White House has a historic opportunity within its grasp, but the moment is now, because right now the establishment media is as exposed as it has ever been or ever will be. That means that right now is the time for the White House to strike — to move the righteous war against fake news beyond sick burns on Twitter.

    Which begs the question…
Is the White House truly outraged over a fake news media that spent two years colluding with the Dirty Cops in the FBI and the intelligence community to frame President Trump and his family as traitors, or not?
I don’t know about you, but when I look across the television landscape and see White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee-Sanders rewarding NBC News with her presence the day after President Trump is cleared of collusion, and then see White House lawyer Rudy Giuliani rewarding CNN with his own presence, I start to wonder what’s going on.

Why would anyone in the White House, much less the press secretary and a marquee name like Giuliani, reward these lying gangsters in this way?
    Huckabee-Sanders giving NBC a ratings boost — what’s that about…?
Giuliani delivering precious YouTube moments to Chris Cuomo — well, that just pisses me off:

It was conservative media that got this right, that ignored the hysteria, that stood by the president, that debunked the establishment media’s deliberate attempt to hoax the public for two years. It was conservative media that kept Trump’s approval numbers from crashing into the impeachment Red Zone. … And who’s still getting all the hot guests and scoops and exclusives? The very worst of the very worst: NBC News and CNN.

This is outrageous, especially when conservative media now has the ability to do these interviews and to distribute and disseminate them just as broadly as the fake news.

And I’m not just thumping the tub for Breitbart News here. Much of conservative media has the infrastructure to get the message out.
Fake news outlets such as NBC News need to be treated like fake news.

Conspiracy theorists like CNN’s Chris Cuomo need to be treated like conspiracy theorists.
These outlets deliberately misled the American people for two years with the Russia Collusion Hoax and worse, as a means to feed the fire of that blazing lie, they bombarded us with one fake news “bombshell” after another.

CNN and NBC News have time and again proved they are not legitimate news outlets, and the White House needs to stop legitimizing and rewarding them with scoops and appearances.

    Starve the illegitimate media.
Conservative media has built the infrastructure and reporting skills to not only step in for fake newsing thugs like Maggie Haberman, we have earned the opportunity.
