4.4 magnitude quake recorded near Kansas border today; Four Oklahoma quakes recorded Wednesday

A 4.4 magnitude earthquake recorded just north of the Oklahoma-Kansas border today.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake recorded 1:01 p.m. today about 6 miles east-southeast of Harper, Kan., which is north of Oklahoma's Grant County.


The USGS also recorded four Oklahoma earthquakes on Wednesday:

- 3.6 magnitude quake 1:18 p.m. near Medford
- 3.0 magnitude quake 5:15 p.m. near Guthrie
- 2.8 magnitude quake 4:17 p.m. near Perry
- 2.6 magnitude quake 8:20 p.m. near Perry

The USGS recorded 26 Oklahoma earthquakes during the past seven days and 118 Oklahoma earthquakes of at least 2.5 magnitude during the past 30 days.


The largest recent Oklahoma earthquakes were:

- 4.1 magnitude quake Monday near Perry
- 4.0 magnitude quake Sept. 18 near Medford
- 4.0 magnitude quake Sept. 15 near Guthrie
