Massachusetts Miracle: Republicans May Win Senate Special Election For Kennedy's Seat

Cap-and-Trade, Obama's tax-and-spend policies, and the entire balance of the US Senate including health-care is at stake in a Massachusetts special election on January 19 to fill Ted Kennedy's US Senate seat.

Republicans were given no chance of willing the election but the lead has narrowed and one poll shows Republican candidate Scott Brown now leading Democratic candidate Martha Coakley.

With so much at stake, inquiring minds are deeply interested in Toss Up In Massachusetts. http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com ... setts.html

The Massachusetts Senate race is now a toss up.

Buoyed by a huge advantage with independents and relative disinterest from Democratic voters in the state, Republican Scott Brown leads Martha Coakley 48-47.

Brown has eye popping numbers with independents, sporting a 70/16 favorability rating with them and holding a 63-31 lead in the horse race with Coakley. Health care may be hurting Democratic fortunes with that group, as only 27% of independents express support for Obama's plan with 59% opposed.

In a trend that's going to cause Democrats trouble all year, voters disgusted with both parties are planning to vote for the one out of power.

When In Doubt, Vote Them Out

The choice is a no brainer in favor of Brown.

I cannot find evidence that Scott Brown is a sound money candidate, but he does have a common sense approach to free market issues elsewhere.

Brown picks up Boston Herald endorsement

Brown picks up Boston Herald endorsement, $626,000+ raised online today; C-SPAN airs debate tonight
    By Michelle Malkin • January 11, 2010 05:17 PM
The Boston Herald urges Massachusetts taxpayers to vote for hope and change:
Sometimes one vote can make a difference – especially if it’s one vote on the floor of the U.S. Senate.
If you love what’s going on in Washington, well, then by all means vote for Martha Coakley. She’s a perfectly nice person, and she won’t make a dime’s worth of difference in the balance of power in Washington.
But if you’re not happy with the status quo, if you think the way business is being conducted on Capitol Hill today is a disgrace and an affront to taxpayers, then you probably agree it’s time for a change.
Scott Brown can single-handedly deliver on that kind of change and the Herald is pleased to endorse his candidacy in the race for U.S. Senate.
Brown talks about being the “41st senator,â€

I don't even know what I would say if this should happen. To me it would prove that Teddy rigged and bought every election in that state. With him gone, and a republican comes close to winning; I will feel almost certain previous elections were rigged.

Ronald Regan carried Mass twice and Romney was a Republican Gov and the current Gov I think is also Republican.

It is not as Dem as they lead it to be - just like CA, who had Rep Gov Regan and currently Arnold.
