Someone page CNN Don Lemon and hand him this story. Lemon made a comment this week that the “biggest threat to the country is from white men” and “we must do something about them.” Someone want to tell him it isn’t about race, but about being either mentally ill or being hopped up on an extremist ideology.
Yes, there can be dangerous folks among refugees. Which is why you have to do your best to vet people, not let them come in illegally. Even then, folks like this guy can still slip through.
This story probably wouldn’t get any attention at all from media because it doesn’t help the narrative.
From Daily Wire: Federal law enforcement officials arrested an Iraqi refugee living in the United States this week after he built bombs in Las Vegas that he planned to use in a terrorist attack, according to court documents.
In a sting operation on Monday, FBI agents thwarted the alleged attack by Ahmad Suhad Ahmad — who allegedly showed undercover FBI how to construct C-4 bombs.
He taught undercover FBI operatives how to make remote-detonating bombs and how to detonate them using a cell phone. The undercover agents said that Ahmad taught them how to build a car bomb at his apartment in Tucson and met with them multiple times to discuss logistics.
The documents state that Ahmad first told a source back in December 2016 that he had knowledge about detonating bombs and provided the source instructions in Arabic on his cell phone and an image of explosive materials. In April 2017, Ahmad began to reveal plans for a potential terror attack or assassination.
He even traveled to Las Vegas to meet with FBI operatives and sources. Con
From Daily Mail: The documents state that as part of the plan Ahmad agreed to travel to Las Vegas to make the bomb. He traveled to Sin City with two confidential FBI sources and two undercover agents on April 26, 2017.
The Iraqi national brought with him a number of his own items to make the bomb, including a circuit tester, electrical tape, and tubes of Permatex Epoxy – a strong adhesive.
‘The undercover agents brought the other items required to build the bomb, which were obtained by a list provided by Ahmad,’ the documents state. The group all went to a condominium in Vegas and over the course of several hours Ahmad built the bomb, while describing what he was doing to undercover agents.
After constructing the first device the document claims, Ahmad then ‘guided’ an undercover agent on how to make a second device. ‘Once both devices were completed, Ahmad explained how they operated,’ the paperwork ended. DailyMail.com has learned Ahmad, who ran a mechanic shop in Tuscon, was a refugee who arrived in the US from Iraq more than ten years ago.
Ahmad who runs a mechanic shop came to the United States from Iraq more than ten years ago, according to the Daily Mail. He also posted a picture of himself on Facebook with children with a graphic, “I stand with refugees.”
This is just one of the terrorist cases that the FBI has been dealing with.
While the authorities have not outlined what the motivations were in this case and no indication that he was connected to ISIS, many of those terrorist cases do have to do with ISIS or other radical Islamic ideology.
While the U.S. has now essentially defeated ISIS in the field, FBI Director Christopher Wray explained at the end of last year, “As we speak, the [FBI] has about 1,000 active ISIS investigations in all 50 states.”
