Republican turncoats join Democrat Revolutionaries and vote for Safer Communities Act
BREAKING: 14 House Republicans vote for controversial gun safety bill
"On Friday, the House of Representatives passed a controversial gun safety bill which the Senate approved yesterday and now is due to land on President Biden's desk."
.
I’m still waiting for one of those Republican snakes or a supporter of the “Safer Communities Act”, or even a Fox News personality, to point to the wording in our federal constitution authorizing Congress to tax and spend for the purposes stated in the Act.
Keep in mind that on January 5, 2011, the House of Representatives adopted an amendment to House Rule XII requiring that Members state the constitutional basis for Congress’s power to enact the proposed legislation when introducing a bill or joint resolution. SOURCE
So, what is the constitutional basis for Congress to enact the 2022 “Bipartisan Safer Communities Act” and tax and spend for the purposes stated therein?

"The Constitution is the act of the people, speaking in their original character, and defining the permanent conditions of the social alliance; and there can be no doubt on the point with us, that every act of the legislative power contrary to the true intent and meaning of the Constitution, is absolutely null and void. ___ Chancellor James Kent, in his Commentaries on American Law , 1858.

I sure would like a reporter from Fox News to confront one of the Republican Congress critters who voted for the “Safer Communities Act”, to point to the wording in our federal Constitution delegating a power to Congress to tax and spend for the purposes stated in the Act.
Let us not forget the House of Representatives adopted an amendment to House Rule XII requiring that Members state the constitutional basis for Congress’s power to enact proposed legislation when introducing a bill or joint resolution. SOURCE
I'm beginning to believe Fox News is not as "fair and balanced" as it claims when it comes to discussing unconstitutional legislation passed by Congress.

Why have a written constitution, approved by the people, if those who it is meant to control are free to make it mean whatever they wish it to mean?

In regard to the “Safer Communities Act”, where is the ". . . statement citing as
specifically as practicable the power or powers granted to Congress in the Constitution to enact the bill or joint resolution. . . "
See House Rule XII: Congress and the Constitution
And why is Fox News not questioning the constitutionality of the Act and demanding to know the delegation of power in our Constitution allowing Congress to tax and spend for the purposes stated in the Act?
