Pelosi: Founders Would Have Supported Obamacare Because… Job-Lock!

If Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) didn’t make every day feel like April Fool’s day, the Democratic lawmaker’s remark on Tuesday that America’s Founders would have supported Obamacare might have seemed like a joke.
Joining the White House in lauding post (non)deadline Obamacare enrollment numbers exceeding 7 million.
“It is really so heartwarming for those of us who worked so hard [to make sure] many more people in our country would have access to healthcare,” she told reporters.
Pelosi went on to suggest that the men who fought and died for American independence were fighting for more than individual liberty.
She said they fought for freedom from “job-lock” because of insurance.
“There are those critics, bumps in the road, but they’ve only been turbulence. They have not been an obstacle to the American people having healthier life that our founders wanted for them,” she said.
The Founders, Pelosi reasoned, wanted “life — a healthier life — liberty and the freedom to pursue their happiness, not [be] job-locked, but having benefits that having health-care policies that are portable, they could be self-employed, be a photographer — they could start their own business, they could change jobs, they could reach their aspirations.”
