Exclusive: Ron Paul's Agenda To Include Eliminating Five Government Departments And He Will Take $39,336 Presidential Salary

Ron Paul’s detailed agenda for America will be disclosed next week and a senior official with his campaign tells The Brody File that it includes eliminating five governmental departments, cutting one trillion dollars in spending and Dr. Paul would take a presidential salary of just $39, 336, which is the median salary of the American worker (The President’s base salary is normally $400,000).

The five departments that would be abolished are the Departments of Education, Energy, Housing and Urban Development, Commerce and Interior. However, while the departments would be eliminated, the plan would be to roll certain functions into other departments. For example, the Department of Education would be done away with but pell grant programs would be phased in somewhere else.

There’s a lot more details to come but those will be unveiled Monday in Las Vegas.

The mainstream media wants to continue to discount Ron Paul even though his poll numbers are healthy, his fundraising is strong and his message is resonating. Now, in this 2012 campaign, he has developed a new wrinkle as he tries to make a concerted pitch to pro-life social conservatives by talking up the value of human life. Ron Paul is not called Dr. Paul for nothing. He’s an obstetrician.

Coming off his big straw poll victory at the Values Voter Summit, he’s now out with an extremely compelling pro-life ad. Watch below.

While Ron Paul may not win the nomination, his constitutional conservative beliefs have already won him something far more valuable and long lasting: changing the discourse in American politics. My guess is the Godfather of the Tea Party would rather have that be his legacy than becoming President of the United States. The media scoffed at him in 2008 but who’s having the last laugh?

The Brody File will be interviewing Ron Paul next week in Las Vegas.

I would vote for him! I think he would be the only one that would make enough dramatic spending cuts.

I like both Paul & Bachmann. Maybe that would be a good combination!

    Paul/Bachmann or Bachmann/Paul

Paul could do the spending cuts and Bachmann could get rid of Obamacare and secure the borders.

Today at 3pm on Las Vegas, perpetually ignored by the media on both the left and right presidential candidate Ron Paul will announce details of his $1 trillion proposal in government spending cuts, which will be the start of a process to balance the Federal budget in three . As Politico reports, "the Texas congressman will lay out a budget blueprint for deep and far-reaching cuts to federal spending, including the elimination of five cabinet-level departments and the drawdown of American troops fighting overseas." Amusingly, and if there is anything that will Paul brownie points with an electorate disgusted by those spreading hypocritical class warfare, "there will even be a symbolic readjustment of the president’s own salary to put it in line with the average American salary." Which will simply make it a given that every president going forward will have at least three laid off Hollywood scriptwriters preoccupied as ghost writers and writing presidential "autobiographies." For the royalties. But we digress. "The federal workforce would be reduced by 10 percent, and the president’s pay would be cut to $39,336 — a level that the Paul document notes is “approximately equal to the median personal income of the American worker.â€

I would add the DHS to the list.

I would also put the FAA, FCC, EPA and FDA to do the job for which they were created, or they will be eliminated. Today all are in bed with the industries they were supposed to regulate. There is a revolving door of government workers leaving those departments for jobs in the corresponding industries, and vice versa. And they all are more concerned with crafting rules and regulations that stifle our economy and control our lives, but do not result in any improvements.

Ron Paul Plan To Restore America Press Conference
    ronpaul

Streamed live on Oct 17, 2011 by ronpaul

The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced the release of Dr. Paul's "Plan to Restore America," an ambitious federal government spending, tax and reform blueprint that as President he will implement.

The plan, authored by Paul's campaign staff at his direction, promises to restore the federal government to its former Constitutionally-limited, smaller-government and less-burdensome place. The plan cuts $1 trillion in federal spending during the first year of a Paul Presidency and delivers a balanced budget in year three of a Paul Presidency.

"Ron Paul's plan is the only one that seriously addresses the economic and budgetary problems our nation faces. It cuts $1 trillion in one year, and slashes regulations and taxes so our economy can grow and create jobs," said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton, a plan co-author.

"It's the only plan offered by a presidential candidate that actually balances the budget and begins to pay down the debt. And it's the only plan being offered that tries to reign in the Federal Reserve and get inflation under control."

Cuts totaling $1 trillion during the first year of a Paul Presidency would be achieved by eliminating five federal cabinet departments -- the Departments of Energy, Housing and Urban Development, Commerce, Interior and Education. Cuts of this scale will also be accomplished by a Paul Presidency abolishing the Transportation Security Administration and returning responsibility for security to private property owners, abolishing corporate subsidies, stopping foreign aid, ending foreign wars, and returning most other spending to 2006 levels.
