Ex-Trump aide now says he's "going to cooperate" with Mueller investigation
Former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg, after a day of threatening to defy special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation in a very public way, now says, “I’m going to cooperate with whatever they want."
Nunberg spoke with CNN as he was sorting through his emails to comply with the special counsel's documents request, which he said is "extremely time consuming."
"I'm working on organizing it," he said. "I'm just trying to get this done so I can then get back to try to have a life and work on my job."
Nunberg said he felt compelled to go on a cable news blitz yesterday to share his frustrations because he "got very aggravated."
Nunberg said he has no regrets about being so public in his defiance on Monday and said he doesn't believe he'll "get in trouble for the interviews." (Nunberg called into CNN twice yesterday, and later appeared on Erin Burnett OutFront.)
"They're very professional people," Nunberg said of the special counsel's office.
Nunberg was not eager to get into the concerns some of his friends raised yesterday as they watched what some described as a very public meltdown on Monday.
"It's not an issue," he said, curtly.
