SCREEN NAMES?
SCREEN NAMES?
Until recently I gave screen names little attention, but I was questioned about “dye” and if it was meant to be spelled that way instead of “die” as did I know how to spell “die.” I chose “dye” because it identifies with a nickname I got in high school and had to do with my personality. It came from the phrase “dyed in the wool” to make it short means; “set in your ways”--an “original”---a “non conformist.”
“dyed in the wool”---long established, confirmed, committed dedicated, incorrigible diehard.
I began to look at screen names and wonder how they were chosen and if they describe the person’s personality.
I would like, and maybe others would also, to how your screen names were chosen.
I also wonder about a person who corrects others miss-spelled words and grammar. I personally would not do that because the most important is that the point is made and the person is understood. I am not here to correct errors in English grammar.

I chose fedupinwaukegan because I am fed up in Waukegan. I use this name on our town's very active board as well.

I would have to say that mine is quite controversial. Trolls automatically assume the worst, which I don’t care. Dixie has a cryptic meaning to me. I freely share the meaning with friends but the Net is another story.
Dyehard… Honestly, I thought about dye cuts when I saw your name And the fact that you are holding on to 39.
My kid's great grandfather is still 39. He lied about his age, to enlist in the military for WWII and doesn't tell the truth about his age to this day. It's so bad, people give him children's birthday cards that say things like happy 5th birthday....

 I love animals. I love birds even though I don't know much about them. I have alot of bird feeders and attract quite a few....plus I own a few pet birds. Plus I was know to loose it laughing my butt off at quirky things I'd notice about chickens behavior when I worked at the chicken farm. They said I suffered from "bird insanity". Crazy old bird woman was too long.......so I just settled for crazybird.

I think my name's self explanatory. :)
I've had-enuf up to here (and here for me it way up there) with federal, state and local governments allowing illegals to take over the US.
I got to ALIPAC in an interesting way. I was reading an on-line article about a not-to-be-named open border group. The more I read, the madder I got.
They'd made statements about William Gheen and ALIPAC. You know, the norm like "racist" "anti-immigrant," etc.
A quick google lead me here. I read, read and read some more. I found the original article to be nothing but a pack of lies.
I signed up that night.
Then I emailed the OB journalist thanking him for leading me here. :) :)

Always thought my name "olivermyboy" sounded a little silly, but Oliver was my grand white standard poodle, killed by a cougar in my back yard last winter. My family loved him very much, he had a wonderful unique personality and I still miss him a great deal.

I chose Mayday because May 1 is about the time I really woke up to the illegal immigration problem. Also because Mayday means a distress call.

I used to live in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado where my Collie was born, hence Mountain Dog, it's a little confusing when I mention the "real mountain dog" as there is the both of us.
The dog in my Avatar is from Co. as well and was a search and Rescue dog, she was killed by some druggie who poisoned her thinking she was a drug dog.
I currently live in the mountains, actually high desert of SoCal. and the real Mountain Dog is getting pretty good at helping track down illegals on the property here.

AlturaCt is the name of the street I lived on growing up. It represents to me a time when America still seemed like America. When we had a certain civility, sense of and obligation of community, unitedness(I think I just made this word up :D ) of who and what we were. Pride in our heros and what it took to get to this point in America's history. I was taught about, in public school no less, and identified with, heros such as Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry and George Washington. Learned of the sacrifices they made and what it took to help preserve and pass on to us. That all started to change in the late 60's and like today, in some circles, they are just "evil white men".
Bottom line as a kid I felt secure, part of a community and most certainly proud to be American! Don't misunderstand I do not romanticize the time period but I lived it and KNOW how things were. The major reason of why I am here is to to help secure some semblance of that for my children and their children and their children...
