Useful Idiocy Has Consequences: Obama Supporters Lose Insurance And End Up With A Worse Plan Under ObamaCare

Some Obama supporters are learning the hard way that, in a democracy, we all get the government we deserve.
Last night on her new Fox News program (which is dominating the cable news ratings, by the way), Megyn Kelly reported about a married couple, who worked on President Obama’s re-election campaign, that are now faced with the consequences of their own efforts.
Their new health insurance sucks, thanks to ObamaCare.
The couple is a 60-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman who live in San Francisco, so they’re Democrats by osmosis. They received a letter recently from their current health insurance provider, Kaiser Permanente, that their existing plan would be cancelled thanks to the Affordable Care Act.
Their new plan makes it clear that “Affordable Care Act” is a total misnomer. The couple’s health insurance premiums will more than double, raising from $558 per month to $1,208 per month. They’ll also have a higher deductible and a higher maximum out-of-pocket.
They have no one to blame but themselves. If that’s not what they wanted, they should have worked on Mitt Romney’s campaign, not Barack Obama’s.

But they’re not happy that they got what they asked for, so they wrote a letter to their Congresscritter. In this case, that person happens to be none other than the Wicked Witch of the West herself: Nancy Pelosi. Here’s what they wrote, in part:
We believe that the Act is good for health care, the economy, & the future of our nation. However, ACA options for middle income individuals ages 59 & 60 are unaffordable…
That’s what they wrote. Here’s what they meant:
When we voted for someone who would force insurance companies to cover people with pre-existing conditions and cover dependents up to the age of 26, we didn’t realize that those insurance companies would have to raise rates to accommodate those additional coverages because we know absolutely nothing about how businesses operate in the real world. We just enjoyed the platitudes you delivered, like “quality, affordable health care for everybody” and, for some reason, we were naive enough to believe you. Now, please fix our error in judgment by making changes to your health care law that will make things worse for other people, but better for us.
