Less than a week after a congressional staffer was arrested for carrying his loaded gun into a Capitol Hill office building, another man has been busted for the same misdeed.

Ronald William Prestage, 59, was busted Wednesday morning trying to walk into the Cannon House Office Building with a 9mm Ruger handgun in his bag, according to NBC Washington.

“A firearm was recovered as a result of an administrative search at the rotunda door of the Cannon House Office Building,” police spokesman Shennell Antrobus told ABC News. The incident happened around 9:20 a.m., he added.

Prestage has been charged with carrying a pistol without a license, Antrobus said. He is not a congressional staffer, but was believed to be attending a meeting in the building, the Washington Post reports.

Ryan Shucard, the press secretary for Pennsylvania Congressman Tom Marino, was arrested last Friday and charged with the same offense after setting off a metal detector while going through building security.

“It was a total accident,” Shucard, who was later placed on unpaid leave, told NBC Washington.
