Thread: Police seek homeless teen in stabbing outside Home Depot

The victim, a day laborer, has injuries that aren't considered life-threatening, police said.
I cannot believe that Home Depot continues to allow these day laborers to loiter about on their property.

SANTA ANA — Police are looking for a homeless teen believed to have stabbed and injured a day-laborer who was trying to break up a fight between the teen and another day-laborer.

The fight broke out shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday in the Home Depot parking lot at 800 North State College Blvd., said Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez.

Officers found a 42-year-old man lying down by the south side of the store, suffering from a stab wound to the right side of his upper chest. A female doctor, who was at the store, was tending to his injuries, Martinez said.

The man was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which were not considered life-threatening, Martinez said.

Based on the initial investigation, it appears the stabbing victim was standing by the south side of the store when a fight broke out between another day-laborer and the homeless teen, Martinez said.

"The victim ran to the fight to break it up, and the transient stabbed him," Martinez said, adding that it's unknown what the fight was about.

The teen is described as white, between 16 and 18 years old, short, with a slender build and dark spiky hair. Police believe he frequents the area and are trying to identify him.

Several men who were with the attacker were detained for questioning.
