US moves 100 caskets to DMZ for service members’ remains from North Korea
US moves 100 caskets to DMZ for service members’ remains from North Korea
By Bradford Betz
June 23rd
The U.S. military said it moved 100 caskets to the demilitarized zone between the two Koreas on Saturday, to prepare for North Korea’s returning of the remains of U.S. soldiers who have been missing since the 1950-53 Korean War.
U.S. Forces Korea spokesman Col. Chad Carroll also said 158 metal transfer cases were sent to a U.S. air base near Seoul, South Korea’s capital, and would be used to send the remains home.
The cases will remain in the border village of Panmunjom for a few days until being sent into North Korea so the North can begin the process of returning the remains of Americans who were killed or died during the 1950s conflict, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported.
According to the agency tasked with overseeing issues POW/MIA issues, North Korea has as many as 200 sets of remains ready to be returned.
The return of the remains was negotiated during President Trump's preparations for his June 12 summit in Singapore with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Carrol denied a detail of the Yonhap report, which stated that U.S. military vehicles carrying more than 200 caskets were planning to cross into North Korea on Saturday.
Carroll said in an email that the U.S.-led U.N. Command was moving "assets" to a U.S. air base in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, south of Seoul, and to the Joint Security Area at the border to prepare for the process.
No official return has been set and it’s not exactly clear when the repatriation will occur, Stars and Stripes reported.
U.S. Forces Korea said in a statement later in the day that 100 wooden “temporary transit cases” built in Seoul were sent to the Joint Security Area at the border as part of preparations to “receive and transport remains in a dignified manner when we get the call to do so.”
From 1996 to 2005, joint U.S.-North Korea military search teams conducted 33 recovery operations that collected 229 sets of American remains.
However, efforts to recover and return other remains have stalled for more than a decade because of the North’s nuclear weapons development and U.S. claims that the safety of recovery teams it sent during the administration of former President George W. Bush was not sufficiently guaranteed.
Trump has also promised to cease joint military exercises between U.S. troops and South Korea, which the North has long regarded as a provocation.
Fox News' Kathleen Joyce and the Associated Press contributed to this report.

Read the article then listen to what Trump says in this video
We got back... TODAY, already 200 have been sent back
and that is not TRUE.

The video is 3 days before the article. Trump isn't relying on the article of the 23rd report, he's relying on something someone told him 3 days earlier on June 20th. Did the North Koreans lie to the South Koreans? Did the South Koreans building the caskets lie to our military? Did the Military lie to the White House? Did the White House lie to the President? Did everyone in this enormously long chain of people "lie" to each other and ultimately the President who then gets accused by you of lying to US?
No, this is just how big organizations working with 2 foreign countries operate, they report the best information they have at the time.
But I understand clinging to any discrepancy you can find to try to discredit this Presidency. It's what the DemoQuacks have done for over 2 years, it's what the Trump Haters have done for over 2 years, it's what the "intel" community has tried to do for over 2 years, and it's getting to be very slim pickings for all of you,, so slim in fact, you're gnawing on bones, no pun intended.

It has everything to do with it. Trump believes on June 20th in Duluth, Minnesita based on something someone told him that the 200 remains in North Korea had been sent back.

LOL. You're suggesting everyone under Trump is lying, but he's not. I wish you knew how ridiculously funny that sounds.
Trump is responsible for his own lies, Judy is responsible for her own lies and MW is responsible for his own lies. It's called personal accountability. A lie is not excused because someone misunderstands something they're told or someone else told them a lie. Of course you've chosen to completely overlook the possibility that our President could be trying to deceive us thinking no one would notice and/or he wouldn't be called out for it.
I understand and sympathize with the cheerleading group within Trump's base of support because sometimes they fail to see outside the box."The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" ** Edmund Burke**

Who knows? High ranking military officers have misled Presidents and We The People in the past. What I see is a lot of confusion. The President in not on the scene to personally witness what is happening. What I read is 100 caskets were moved to the DMZ. One might assume that is because there were remains being delivered. In another article I read "North Korea and the United States held a general-level meeting at Panmunjom on July 15 to discuss sending back the remains of U.S. soldiers killed in the Korean War." It appears that arrangements have not been made yet. So the claim the NK has not honored the commitment are bogus.
My guess is those remains have not been stored in a warehouse for close to 70 years. They probably have to be exhumed. But the way the media critical of President Trump portray it, the remains would be turned over the day after the summit!

I most certainly do believe it. I don't know what kind of work you do or where you come from or anything else, but people who have spent their entire lives in big organizations are reading your posts going "what is with wrong with them?"
I don't think high ranking military officers are in the field with the caskets. It's a team of people who do this all over the world, usually quietly without any attention. They hear one thing from the foreign country, they report it, it changes, they report it, usually the White House and President aren't involved until and unless he wants to schedule being at the airport when the caskets come home, which is sometimes up to the families. They had to ask the South Koreans to make the wooden caskets, then there's the metal coffins, it's quite a process, something I love about the military, the detail and effort they put in to showing the enormous respect our fallen soldiers left behind deserve.
What makes it a "HUGE" mistake to you? The only "HUGE" mistake I see is the one you and MW are making.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan
