HOUSTON - The daycare owner, who allegedly left seven babies alone and four of them died in a fire, is pleading not guilty to charges in connection to their deaths .

Jessica Tata appeared in a Harris County courtroom under heavy security. Before the 22-year-old was led into court, sheriff's deputies instructed everyone not to make any unnecessary movements during the hearing.

No one was allowed to leave, enter or even stand until Tata was taken out of the courtroom at the end of the proceeding. Extra safety measures are being taken because emotions are running so high.

The courtroom was full of spectators and relatives of the children who died in the fire, including relatives of 16-month-old Elias Castillo.

They wore white T-shirts with the toddler's picture on the front and back, with the words: "Gone but never forgotten. I'll always love you."

"I needed to see her. I needed to see the woman who killed my son. I'm not going to run. I'm not a coward like her. I needed to be here," said Keshia Brown, mother of Elias Castillo.

The only time Tata turned to look at the crowded courtroom was when Brown's sobs could be heard in the otherwise quiet courtroom.

There are so many charges against Tata it took the prosecutor 15 minutes to read them all. She is charged with several counts of Manslaughter, a number of charges of Reckless Injury to a Child and Abandoning a Child.

The federal charge, Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution , was not brought up in court.

Tata left 7 babies all alone at her registered family home while she picked up a few items at Target, according to investigators. She was inside the store for only 15 minutes that February afternoon.

That was plenty of time for tragedy to happen. A pot of oil left cooking on the stove caught the house on fire and 4 babies died.

"This is a terrible, terrible accident. Her own god daughter died in the fire. She did save 2 people herself, pulling them out of the house,â€

How did Jessica Tata recieve charges of escaping justice/ unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, if she did not have pending criminal or civil charges placed against her when she traveled to Nigeria?

However, if she was told not to leave State when questioned about daycare fire, this would be reason for unlawful flight charges.

    What information is she hiding?
