Today in my doctor's waiting room, I picked up a copy of what I thought was April's Readers Digest. It turned out to be "Selecciones Reader's Digest" which is all in Spanish. It is the exact same size, format, and appears to have all the features, such as quotes, jokes, stories, etc.
All of it's ads are in Spanish, and they cover the same ads as the regular Reader's Digest. Only all of the ads show pictures of Hispanics only. They even have a US Army ad that shows only Hispanics in uniforms.
This bothered me, because I believe that the majority of American ads on tv and in magazines, shows people from all around the world, and not just one set of people. I was actually offended by the lack of diversity in their "Selecciones Reader's Digest".
