STAR IS BORN WHEN SECURITY GUARD TASERS 'CRAZY LADY'

Commentator says people 'can help the way you act'

Published: 25 mins ago by COLIN FLAHERTY

Colin Flaherty is an award-winning reporter and author of "White Girl Bleed a Lot: The return of racial violence to America and how the media ignore it." Follow him on Twitter.

(Editor’s note: Colin Flaherty has done more reporting than any other journalist on what appears to be a nationwide trend of skyrocketing black-on-white crime, violence and abuse. WND features these reports to counterbalance the virtual blackout by the rest of the media due to their concerns that reporting such incidents would be inflammatory or even racist. WND considers it racist not to report racial abuse solely because of the skin color of the perpetrators or victims.)

EDITOR’S NOTE: The links in the following report may contain offensive language.

An Internet star is born. His name is Darrien Long and he is an Atlanta security guard.

But most people know him as the “guy in the video who Tased that crazy lady at the Metro Mall downtown.”

Before the Taser video begins, Long said something to four children at the Metro Mall in downtown Atlanta. Before it ends 10 minutes later, the mother and members of the crowd that watched the confrontation would threaten, cuss, assault, spit, challenge and call Long every racial and sexual epithet imaginable.
    Long kept his cool.

After the woman and her friends ignored repeated calls for them to leave the mall, he shot her with a Taser, taking some of the fight out of her, putting the fight into the rest of the crowd.

“Do what you are supposed to do,” he told WSBTV, “or get what’s coming to you.”

Long also carries a gun and video camera. He now has his own Fan Page on FaceBook and the video of his exploits is traveling far and wide to almost universal acclaim.

David Spates is an Atlanta actor and writer who runs a popular video website where he provides commentary about everyday life among black people. Some videos are real. Some are comedy sketches.

He thought he’s seen it all until he saw – and posted: “You Betta Back It Up! – C’mon Black People! – Ghetto Mom Tased By Security Guard.” Anyone expecting sympathy from the usually sympathetic Spates will be surprised:

That is the problem with a lot of us, our kids run around doing all sorts of s— they are not supposed to be doing, and when someone besides us tells them to correct that behavior, instead of appreciating that and coming together as a people, we attack them for trying to talk some common sense instead to our kids.

Keeping it real with ya: A lot of us don’t even know how to raise kids. If you truly love your kids, would you have them around something like that?

I count four kids that are watching and learning this behavior.

A lot of you who act like this think you have it together. You think you are smart, you think you are tough. But let me ask you this: When you see this woman is acting, do you think she is smart.

    Not educated.

    No job.

Same s— we see every day.

The kids have a good chance of growing up the same way.

OK black people, we can stop that.

    Maybe you are not educated.

Maybe you don’t have the best job.

Those are things you might not be able to help.

But you can help the way you act. I could not enjoy it because of the scream of her child when she got shot.

All ignorance does is breed ignorance.

For real black people we gotta stop this s—.

Other merchants in the neighborhood, just a block from the state capital on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, said this kind of confrontation happens every day. The woman was charged criminal trespass, battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Spates said he would have used a Taser on her, too, and asks: “What would you do?”
