Happy Thanksgiving from the The D.C. Clothesline

    The D.C. Clothesline

I want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving before I forget. Life is a little full right now and I am grateful for that because it keeps me out of trouble. But if I don't write this now I might truly overlook it because... well you know how holidays can be.

We print a lot of stories about what is wrong with the world and this country on The Clothesline, but let me tell you what is right.

What is right is that there are a group of people who refuse to give in and I am grateful for each of you. Like many of those around you, you could choose to throw in the towel and get lost in the herd but you can't do it. It's not even that you won't do it but that you can't. You aren't wired that way. I know how that feels. At times it is miserable. You just can't do it.

I thank God for making people like you. Every day you find ways to inspire me and keep me going when it gets tough. Because it does get tough sometimes. But you remind me that it's not OK to give up. The fight is not what we do. It is who we are.

    We are Americans.

It is my belief that we will return this nation to the people someday. I don't know when that will be. But I believe it will happen. If I didn't believe that then I wouldn't be here.

If you didn't at least believe it was possible then you wouldn't be here either. It might take a miracle. Should that scare us?

Not really because miracles happen every day. Look around your dinner table and see the miracles all around you on this holiday. For those of you who won't be able to attend a big family gathering... I have been there. You still have so much to be grateful for if you will just open your eyes and see how you have been blessed.

It's about perspective. We can all find hundreds of things to whine about but Thanksgiving is a day that we need to focus on some good.

As long as a few Patriot hearts continue to beat, we are not done. This is our time my friends. Be thankful that you are not alone. Even if you are the only one at your dinner table this Thursday, do not forget the family that you have all over the country. I consider you all brothers and sisters.

Here is wishing you the very best and blessed holiday. If you don't celebrate this holiday then have a great day anyway. I love you all. You are my family.

    -Dean

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Eagle Forum! Here's a Thanksgiving note from Phyllis:
    Thank you!

During this week when so many families gather to celebrate Thanksgiving, I want to send you a brief note of thanks. I am so grateful to so many of our Eagle Forum family: for all the prayers, work and energy offered.

We face many important and pressing battles these days. Many of the things we hold most dear seem threatened by the current state of affairs. However, we also know that whenever the challenges are toughest, our people step up and make the difference. It happened with ERA and with the Reagan Revolution. And it is happening now!

So, I thank you all and wish you a blessed Thanksgiving.

    God bless you.
