Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg underwent lung surgery in New York City to remove cancerous growths, the court said in a news release.

The release said Ginsburg underwent a pulmonary lobectomy at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center after two nodules in the lower lobe of her left lung were discovered. The discovery came incidentally during tests after she fractured several ribs during a fall in November.
The news release said both nodules removed during surgery were found to be malignant, but scans performed before surgery indicated no evidence of disease elsewhere in the body. No further treatment is planned.
“Justice Ginsburg is resting comfortably and is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days,” the court said.
Ginsburg, 85, has survived a series of health scares. She also broke two ribs in a fall in 2012, has had two prior bouts with cancer and had a stent implanted to open a blocked artery in 2014. Despite the issues, Ginsburg has yet to miss a single day of oral arguments during her tenure, The Washington Post reported.
The liberal justice, who studied at Harvard Law School, was nominated to the highest court in the land by former President Bill Clinton in 1993 to replace retiring Justice Byron R. White. Ginsburg was Clinton's first Supreme Court pick. Prior to ascending to the Supreme Court, Ginsburg became the first woman to receive tenure at Columbia University Law School. She is also notably the co-founder of the American Civil Liberties Union's Women's Rights Project.
Ginsburg is the court's oldest member and there's been a great deal of speculation on when she may retire. However, she reportedly hired clerks for the term that extends into 2020, indicating she has no plans to leave soon.

First of all, I wish Justice Ginsburg well. She is a courageous advocate for women’s rights and a cultural icon. But in one reads between the lines of published reports on her situation, this woman is probably quite ill.
According to Kathleen Arberg, public information officer for the Supreme Court: “Two nodules in the lower lobe of her left lung were discovered incidentally during tests performed at George Washington University Hospital to diagnose and treat rib fractures sustained in a fall on November 7. [2018]” According to the surgeon who operated on the justice, Dr. Valerie Rusch, both nodules removed during surgery were found to be malignant. However, “post-surgery, there was no evidence of any remaining disease. Scans performed before surgery indicated no evidence of disease elsewhere in the body. Currently, no further treatment is planned.”
Thus, from published reports from reputable sources, we know the following:
1. She had non-metastatic colon cancer removed in 1999
2. She had non-metastatic pancreatic cancer removed in 2010.
3. She had a stent placed in her coronary arteries in 2014
4. She fell in November of 2018 and broke three ribs.
5. She had surgery in December of 2018 and had two malignant nodules removed from her lungs.
6. Scans found no other cancer in her body.
7. She is 85 years old and has no history of being a smoker.
The most significant words from above are “two malignant nodules.” What does this mean?
First of all, malignant nodules are fancy words for small tumors, in general one that is about an inch or smaller in size. When a nodule is removed during surgery, it is quickly examined under the microscope by a pathologist. These doctors rarely see patients; rather they examine tissues and determine the cause of disease. Pathologists can usually determine quickly whether a nodule is benign or malignant, but in order to determine the actually type of cancer (that is the tissue source of the cancer), special preparation is required before microscopic examination. This can take several days or weeks to complete. At the time of this writing, we have no published reports stating the results of these tests – or even if they were ever done.
But since there were “two malignant nodules,” the odds are is that this is Stage IV or metastatic cancer – meaning that it has spread to the lungs from another organ system. Even with today’s modern technology, it is difficult to pinpoint small primary tumors. Otherwise we would be screening everyone to catch cancer earlier when it is easier to cure.
As noted above, Justice Ginsburg had colon cancer and pancreatic cancer in the past. Again, it is unlikely that these cancers are the source of her possible lung metastases. These cancers do not lie dormant for years. What is much more likely is that a small primary cancer exists – either a new one in the colon or pancreas, or another from another organ such as the liver, kidney or breast. If this is the case, her prognosis is poor, as summarized in the chart below.

This chart is not as complicated as in looks. For example, if 100 patients are diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer (meaning the cancer is not only in the colon but in another organ), 50 of those patients will still be alive and 50 will not be alive two years later. By five years, 12 will be alive and 88 will not. Keep in mind that these numbers vary according to various academic studies and oncologists (cancer doctors) may quibble as to their exact accuracy. Also keep in mind that there are other types of metastatic cancer that are not listed here. These are simply the more common ones.
However, there another more optimistic possibility: that the tumors removed are primary lung tumors. This is obviously what her doctors hoped for, or else they would not have subjected this frail-appearing 85-year-old woman to this brutal surgery. But it is unusual for there to be two primary tumors in the lungs at once – especially in a non-smoker. But if these are primary tumors and they have been completely excised, her prognosis could be excellent, up to a 92% 5-year survival.
But if this were the case, there should have been published reports stating that the pathology reports showed this to be a type of primary lung cancer. At the time of this writing, this has not occurred. Furthermore Justice Ginsburg appears to be so incapacitated that she cannot attend oral arguments at the Supreme Court – but this could be because she needs more time to recover from her surgery, not because she has cancer.
It is a shame that political junkies of all persuasions have been quite ghoulish in analyzing Justice Ginsburg’s prognosis, but this is what happens when our judiciary makes laws rather than interprets them. Supreme Court picks are now more important than elections in determining public policy, as can be seen by the blood sport that characterized Justice Kavanaugh’s recent confirmation hearings.
But in my medical opinion, the doctors and the media who have commented on her health are underestimating the severity of her illness. Here is the bottom line: President Trump has a reasonable chance – at least 35% – of replacing Justice Ginsburg if he finishes his term. If he wins reelection and survives four years, his chance of replacing her is at least 80%.
But as the Italians say at wedding anniversaries: “Cent anni.” (“May you live 100 hundred years.”) That is my wish for Justice Ginsburg.

The White House has been reaching out to political allies and conservative activist groups to discuss preparations for an ailing Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's possible death or departure from the bench, according to Politico.

Ginsburg has been absent from Supreme Court arguments this week following the removal of two malignant cancerous growths from her left lung on Dec. 21.

The outreach began after Ginsburg, 85, on Monday missed oral arguments at the court for the first time in her 25 years on the bench. The justice, who was nominated to the court by President Bill Clinton in 1993, announced in late December that she underwent a surgical procedure to remove two cancerous growths from her lungs. -Politico

According to a source familiar with the discussions, the White House "is taking the temperature on possible short-list candidates, reaching out to key stakeholders, and just making sure that people are informed on the process. They're doing it very quietly, of course, because the idea is not to be opportunistic, but just to be prepared so we aren't caught flat-footed."
The Supreme Court announced that Ginsburg had a pulmonary lobectomy, and that there was "no evidence of any remaining disease" post surgery. That said, her absence from the bench for the first time in more than 25 years is notable. The oldest Supreme Court Justice has battled cancer twice in the past, once in 1999 and then in 2009 when she underwent surgery for pancreatic cancer - neither of which kept her away from court. On Monday, Chief Justice John Roberts said that she was "unable to be present" but would participate in oral arguments by reading briefs, filings and a transcript of the session.
Ginsburg's departure from the Court would pave the way for Trump to nominate a third Supreme Court Justice - the most in one presidential term since Ronald Reagan nominated three judges during his second term, notes Politico.
The nine-member court is currently divided 5-4 between its conservative and liberal wings. Ginsburg’s departure would allow Trump to create the Court’s strongest conservative majority in decades, a scenario sure to bring intense opposition from Democrats and liberal activists still furious over the October confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh. -Politico

"It would be a brutal confirmation," said the Heritage Foundation's John Malcom, who heads up the Meese Center for Legal and Judicial Studies. "The first two were not easy at all, but this would be much harder in this respect: When Neil Gorsuch was the nominee, you were replacing a conservative with a conservative. With Kavanaugh, you were replacing the perennial swing voter, who more times than not sided with the so-called conservative wing, so that slightly solidified the conservative wing."
"But if you are replacing Justice Ginsburg with a Trump appointee, that would be akin to replacing Thurgood Marshall with Clarence Thomas," said Malcom. "It would mark a large shift in the direction of the court."
The White House is urging outside allies to be prepared for another bruising confirmation battle should Ginsberg’s health take a sudden turn for the worse, according to four sources with knowledge of the overtures. Outside groups, led by the Federalist Society and the Judicial Crisis Network, played a leading role in helping to confirm Kavanaugh and, before that, Justice Neil Gorsuch.
The groups have advised the Trump team on everything from potential nominees to political and media strategy, producing television advertisements and blitzing reporters with supportive messaging. Together, the conservative groups spent over $7 million on ads supporting Kavanaugh’s nomination. -Politico

Supreme Court appointments are for life, and replacements can only occur upon the death or retirement of a judge. If a judge cannot perform their duties, Congress has the option to impeach.
In December, the vehemently anti-Trump- Ginsburg told an audience that she "will do this job as long as I can do it full steam."
During the heat of the 2016 US election, Ginsburg made shockwaves when she told the New York Times that should President Trump become President, it would be time to move to New Zealand, stating "I can’t imagine what the country would be with Donald Trump as our president," adding "For the country, it could be four years. For the court, it could be — I don’t even want to contemplate that."
The comments led many to suggest Ginsburg would need to recuse herself from any decisions involving Trump, with even the Washington Post noting that some "wondered what impact this might have on Ginsburg's decision to hear cases involving Trump. - If there's a redo of Bush v. Gore, how does Ginsburg not recuse herself, given her Trump comments?"
Trump fired back, telling The Times "I think it’s highly inappropriate that a United States Supreme Court judge gets involved in a political campaign, frankly."
He also tweeted: "Justice Ginsburg of the U.S. Supreme Court has embarrassed all by making very dumb political statements about me. Her mind is shot - resign!"

While her exact condition is unknown, "top cancer surgeons" told CNBC they expect the 85-year-old Justice to be back on the bench in less than six weeks after fracturing three ribs and undergoing surgery to remove two cancerous nodules from her left lung over a two-month span.
Ginsburg's January 29 appearance was announced on December 20 - one day before her lung surgery. She was released from the hospital four days later. On January 7, Chief Justice John Roberts said Ginsburg was "unable to be present doay," adding that she would still participate from home. A court spokesperson said earlier that day that Ginsburg would participate in cases "on the basis of briefs, filings and transcripts."

(Natural News) Today The Atlantic, a fake news propaganda rag of the lunatic Left, called for the impeachment of Trump. That’s because Leftists have reached “peak panic” mode as rumors are circulating that Ruth Bader Ginsburg is seriously ill and will soon either retire from the court or pass away.

The Santa Monica Observer, the same small paper that correctly reported RBG’s cancer condition before it was widely acknowledged, is now reporting that RBG has contracted pneumonia and will retire from the U.S. Supreme Court “in January, 2019.” Astonishingly, the story was first published by the SM Observer in September of 2018, demonstrating once again how the paper was months ahead of everybody else.
As the paper reports:
She has told key Democratic members of the Senate about her medical condition, including ranking Democratic member of the Judiciary Committee Dianne Feinstein. This explains in part the “take no prisoners” attitude of the Democrats during the Kavanaugh nomination, carefully orchestrating weak 37 year old allegations against Kavanaugh by Women he barely remembers knowing in High School and College.
Left-wing propagandists (i.e. “journalists”) are fully aware that if Trump remains in office for a few more months, he will be able to appoint yet another conservative justice to the U.S. Supreme Court. This is why there’s total panic across the Left-o-verse; because the prospect of a 6-3 Supreme Court with liberals out-voted two to one is an unbearable thought to uber-liberals. These are the same people, remember, who are triggered by the word “family” — a concept that causes them to break down into total panic.
The Left has, for decades, relied on the Supreme Court to establish “law” in America that could never get passed on Congress because it would be too unpopular. Abortion, gay marriage, union fee confiscations from workers and many other issues have all been dictated by the court, often in complete contradiction to the will of the People as reflected through Congress.
Is the SM Observer correct about January, 2019? It will likely be close…

Last week when I appeared on the Alex Jones Show as a health commentator, I publicly predicted that Ruth Bader Ginsburg would be gone from the court before the 2020 election. Privately, I have long thought she would not even make it through 2019, even as I have also publicly offered to help her survive cancer with natural medicine strategies if only her staffers would reach out for advice. Then again, establishment people frequently die from their twisted beliefs in toxic western medicine, and Ginsburg appears to be no different. She underwent chemotherapy for a previous bout of cancer several years ago, and the chemo is no doubt what’s killing her now.
I don’t wish death or suffering upon anyone, including Ginsburg. But as much as I don’t believe in being vindictive toward wrong-headed SCOTUS justices, I do believe in cause and effect. If you poison your body with chemotherapy, it will eventually kill you. Even if you sit on the bench. RBG is not immune to the laws of chemistry. None of us are.
Thus, Ginsburg appears to be suffering the consequences of her own unwise decisions, and a person who would poison their own body in a distorted, ignorant effort to “treat” cancer is also the same kind of person who would advocate the poisoning of a nation with wrongheaded policies that kill the patient, so to speak. Her self destruction with toxic chemotherapy is a reflection of her failed ideology which is also destructive on a national scale.
Chemotherapy is killing Ginsburg… so why isn’t the Left protesting the quack-filled cancer industry?

Chemotherapy causes immunosuppression, and if Ginsburg really has pneumonia as is being reported by the SM Observer, her body’s ability to respond to that infection has already been severely compromised by the chemotherapy poisoning.
It’s also relevant to point out that chemotherapy causes “chemo brain” — a form of brain damage caused by the chemical weapons that are mislabeled “chemotherapy agents.” Ginsburg’s chemo brain has been obvious for years, and the toxic effects of chemotherapy are increasingly evident in her toxic court decisions that poison the nation with what might be called “judicial toxins.” Like all liberals on the court, Ginsburg has zero respect for the rule of law in America and believes that the role of Supreme Court justices is to override both the legislative and executive branches of government with a fanatical progressive agenda. Far from operating with humility and honor, Ginsburg strove to assert false power over the law of the land by inventing intent where non existed, all while ignoring the real intent of our nation’s founders who specifically limited the power of the Supreme Court in order to halt the rise of the very kind of left-wing tyranny we’re seeing today.
Ginsburg’s imminent retirement from the highest court is a tremendous gift to America for the simple reason that her ideology is destructive; her cognitive function has been chemically impaired; and her continued existence on the court remains a threat to the individual liberties and civil rights of all Americans. We do not celebrate the illness of anyone, but we do celebrate the restoration of health for our constitutional republic.
Again, we don’t wish her any harm or ill-will, but we recognize that her retirement from the court is a blessing for the future of our nation. Barring some unlikely miracle, RBG will be gone from the court in the next few months, and the battle for the next Supreme Court nominee will begin.
If you thought the Democrats’ total circus of lunacy surrounding the Kavanaugh confirmation was a spectacle, you haven’t seen anything yet. The radical Left will go completely insane over Trump getting to nominate yet another conservative to the court: Most likely Amy Barrett.
This is why the lunatic Left is going for broke right now, rolling out massive censorship, calls for impeachment, trying to block Trump’s State of the Union address and more. They are about to be defeated for generations to come, and if Barrett gets confirmed, you’re going to see liberals leaping off bridges and tall buildings just to stop the torture of every waking moment, living in a society where the Supreme Court is not run by radical activist liberal judges.
All this underscores why elections matter. Or, as Obama said, “elections have consequences.”
And so does chemotherapy.

Mueller, the wall impasse, the shutdown, the "postponement" of the SOTU – all are skirmishes in the undeclared war on President Trump waged by Democrats, the Deep State, and the compliant media. A decisive battle will be enjoined if Ruth Bader Ginsburg dies or resigns this year.
Nothing scares the left more than the prospect of Trump filling another seat on the SCOTUS with a young, fire-breathing constitutionalist who would join with Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh to form a conservative bloc for the ages.
Pelosi and Schumer are praying that Justice Ginsburg survives and remains on the bench until January 1, 2020, when their concern for her well-being ceases. They know that Senate majority leader McConnell could not persuade his entire caucus to abandon the principle he championed in 2016 that a nomination to the Supreme Court in a presidential election year is inappropriate.
Here's how it may go if RBG vacates the bench or the Earth soon, as seems likely: Pelosi will immediately schedule a vote to launch a formal impeachment inquiry, pre-empting the president's announcement of his choice to fill Ginsburg's seat. It will pass along partisan lines, swamping other news. Next, the House Judiciary Committee (Jerrold Nadler, chair) will draw up charges against the president. Eventually, the committee will vote out articles of impeachment. At some point after this, the entire House votes on the articles. Trump is impeached.
With President Clinton, it took about five months for the entire process to play out, ending with a vote of "not guilty." Depending on when the ball drops, Democrats have two ways to work the Trump hit job for an even more extended time and for maximum effect:

Slow-walk the process leading to the full House impeachment vote. The longer it takes to get there, the longer Trump remains under a cloud and, in some eyes, delegitimized. Pelosi will be in no hurry get the matter to the Senate, where McConnell would schedule the trial as soon as possible to end the nightmare.
Fast-track the full House vote on impeachment – and hope, as I said in an earlier post, the public conflates impeachment with conviction.

Either way, Democrats and their media allies will flood the country with impeachment fare and string it out. Likely, four or five Republican senators turn jellyfish and inform McConnell they will not support Trump's nominee to the SCOTUS while the president is in legal limbo.
Everyone knows that the Senate will not convict. And that's fine with the prescient among Trump's enemies. They want a weakened adversary in the Oval Office, not President Pence. If Schumer and Pelosi can keep the circus going into 2020, they believe that Trump's ability to govern will be curtailed and perhaps, if they're lucky, his spirit broken.
As Carville – or "Serpenthead," as he is known to political herpetologists – might say, "when the hunt's done and the moon's come over the bayou, our dogs'll lie down by the fire where Trump's simmerin' in the stewpot with the mudbugs."
