Barbra Streisand: Women Who Support Trump ‘Vote the Way Their Husbands Vote’

Pop icon and actress Barbra Streisand said that women who voted for President Donald Trump did so because of their husbands and said those women “don’t believe enough in their own thoughts” in a new interview.

“I love my country and it’s painful to see democracy being assaulted, institutions being assaulted and women being assaulted,” Barbra Streisand told Daily Mail.

The “No More Tears” singer also decried “a war between people who want to live in the future and look forward to the future, and people who want to live in the past.”

“Imagine, women who for 40-something years have had the right to choose now perhaps won’t,” the Oscar-winner also said, referencing the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Streisand also referred to the fact that many women who voted for Donald Trump as a “terribly complex thing,” and said that “a lot of women vote the way their husbands vote; they don’t believe enough in their own thoughts.”

“Perhaps she made women feel unsuccessful,” she also said about Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign. “All of this was so devastating to me and I was heartbroken, so I wanted to write about it, sing about it and deliver an album. It was perfect timing, so I just did it.”

The 76-year-old crooner is currently promoting her new anti-Trump album Walls, which, as Breitbart News’ John Nolte pointed out, seems to largely be about her crying.

Last month, she revealed that she is still “numb” over the loss of Hillary Clinton.

“So, I was in tears…we walked around of kind of numb,” she said of the 2016 election. “I’m still a little bit numb because I can’t believe it happened, since, you know, Hillary got 2.9 million more votes than Trump and she’s not the president, so I don’t know.”

In my opinion, women voted for Trump because he's handsome, sexy, smart, tough, sweet, gracious, funny, hard-working, loyal, wants to fix our country, and knows how to fix our country, the same reasons men voted for Trump.

Well, I won't proclaim to know why women voted for Trump, but I don't believe they share Barbara Streisand's thoughts or consider Trump handsome, sexy, sweet, loyal, or gracious. IMO, to suggest that women are so shallow as to vote for anyone based on such criteria is demeaning to women.

Honestly, my wife, who voted for Trump, has referred to him as bottom-leeching pond scum. However, according to her, her vote was more in opposition to Hillary Clinton and the liberal mentality than it was in support of Donald Trump. She doesn't like Trump, but considered him the lesser of two evils.

Yes, there you have it, I've thought before the election and seen for a fact after the election, that there were a lot of conservatives, male and female, who voted for Trump, not because they actually supported him or even his agenda, but for other reasons, yet call themselves, his "base".

Sorry Barbara...MY husband voted for Trump because I told him to and we agree...Trump was better than that traitor Hillary.

Barbara Streisand lives in a compound and probably doesn't even do her own shopping. To say she has an isolated view of the issues is an understatement. She only knows what the propaganda media broadcasts. Perhaps she should invite a hundred or so of these "migrants" to camp on her property and provide for them instead of living her little castle and expecting the "little people" to take care of it for her. When is ICE going to check to see how many illegals these rich elite Hollywood types are employing under the table? IMO

A lot of husbands and wives that vote together in America are together because they see the world and issues similarly. They have shared values America once had, and that is why so many of us venerate motherhood and the importance of being a good husband and wife.
