This one was inevitable, but it stings nonetheless. Despite her constant inability to explain how she’ll pay for her schemes, New York has elected wild-eyed socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to the House of Representatives.

Ocasio-Cortez is a well-known gaffe machine who calls herself a “Democratic Socialist.” That means she agrees with everything hardcore socialists think, but she’s just smart enough to realize that the “S-word” is electoral poison. So, she’s couched her beliefs in something ever so slightly more appetizing.

She will, most likely, take over for Nancy Pelosi as the young fresh face of the foot-in-mouth wing of the Democrat party.

“Progressive Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez won her race for a U.S. House seat in New York’s 14th District on Tuesday, becoming the youngest woman ever elected to Congress.

The 29-year-old political newcomer made headlines nationwide in June when she unexpectedly defeated 10-term Rep. Joe Crowley in the Democratic primary.

On Tuesday, Ocasio-Cortez easily prevailed in the heavily Democratic district against Republican opponent Anthony Pappas, a St. John’s University professor.

…A member of the Democratic Socialists of America, Ocasio-Cortez is part of a wave of progressive Democrats promising to push the party establishment further left. She refused any corporate PAC money in her campaign and ran on a boldly progressive platform that included Medicare for all, a federal jobs guarantee and the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”

We look forward to seeing a whole lot more of Ocasio-Cortez, as she attempts to understand the theories behind basic economics and civics 101 – both subjects that have caused her much consternation in the past.
Democrats are incapable of shame, so Ocasio Cortez won’t embarrass them, but she will probably emerge as the latest inheritor of the ridiculous mantle held by Maxine Waters, Sheila Jackson Lee, and Nancy Pelosi. That is to say; she’ll be the person the rest of her party is forced to pretend to love, while simultaneously living down comments like these:

Millennial congresswomen, they’re just like us. No, really, this one is.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the democratic socialist and youngest woman ever elected to Congress, can’t afford to rent an apartment in Washington, D.C. before her job starts in January.
“I have three months without a salary before I’m a member of Congress. So, how do I get an apartment?” Ocasio-Cortez, 29, told the New York Times. “We’re kind of just dealing with the logistics of it day by day, but I’ve really been just kind of squirreling away and then hoping that gets me to January.”
Ocasio-Cortez shocked the country when she secured a primary victory over New York Rep. Joe Crowley, the 10-term incumbent who was widely believed to be the most powerful Democrat in the House after Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. Before she turned to politics, Ocasio-Cortez worked as a bartender.
Now she’s telling voters not to worry about her housing situation.
“There are many little ways in which our electoral system isn’t even designed (nor prepared) for working-class people to lead,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “This is one of them (don’t worry btw - we’re working it out!)”
Ocasio-Cortez is widely viewed as an up-and-coming star in the Democratic Party in the wake of her surprise win, fueled in part by her leftist policy ideas, which more closely align with millennial voters than her future congressional colleagues. She believes, for example, in single-payer healthcare and has suggested taxing Wall Street to fully fund public universities. She also supports “clean campaign finance,” and has said she will not accept corporate donations.

One must ask why any New York Republican who lives in that district couldn't beat this woman. Has New York fallen so far into the Lost Civilization Zone that they couldn't find ONE INTELLIGENT REPUBLICAN in that district to defeat her? What about the college professor who ran for this seat who is a Republican? Why wasn't he covered by the media? Why wasn't his name known to people in the district? Why, why, why didn't we fight for this seat and keep this moron out of the Congress? It obviously wouldn't have taken much. Even an interview on Fox somewhere would have probably been enough.

That district is LOADED with Illegal Aliens

Every ballot that voted for her needs to be investigated for FRAUD, non-citizens voting!

If there is fraud she needs to be disqualified and not be allowed in the Congress!

Democratic New York congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is still struggling to explain how she expects to pay for her expensive “Medicare for All” plan.

Ocasio-Cortez, who upset incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley in the Democratic primary, has repeatedly been unable to answer how she will pay for her socialistic policies. A study by the George Mason University Mercatus Center claims Medicare for All would cost $32.6 trillion in government spending over 10 years.
During an interview with Jorge Ramos last Thursday, Ocasio-Cortez said she is “puzzled” that people keep asking her how the country can afford socialized medicine. (RELATED: Obama Endorses Socialist Ocasio-Cortez)
“People often say, like, ‘how are you going to pay for it?’ And I find the question so puzzling, because, how do you pay for something that’s more affordable?” Ocasio-Cortez said.

Ocasio-Cortez’s claim that Medicare for All would be cheaper than the current health system is inaccurate. While the Mercatus Center study estimated drug prices would fall under Medicare for All, higher demand would still significantly drive up costs.
“How do you pay for cheaper rent?” she said. “You just pay for it. You’re paying more now!”
