Republican Leaders FLIP OUT Over President Trump’s Massive Troop Reduction in Afghanistan

    Trump is putting America first.

Published 2 hours ago on Nov 17, 2020
    By Shane Trejo

Republican leaders, many of whom are in the back pockets of defense contractors, are crying foul at President Trump’s proposal to bring most of the troops out of Afghanistan by the end of his first term in office.
“A rapid withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan now would hurt our allies and delight the people who wish us harm,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said.
Other RINO Republicans whined about Trump’s proposal as well.

“The concern would be it would turn into a Saigon-type of situation where it would fall very quickly and then our ability to conduct operations against terrorist elements in the region could be compromised,” said Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), who chairs the Senate Intelligence Committee. “That’s my primary concern right now.”
“You can’t simply unilaterally draw down troops,” said Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD), an Armed Services Committee member. “I think it’s a serious mistake to unilaterally walk away.”
Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) wants President Trump to obey the orders of the military-industrial complex, saying that he is “hoping that the president listens and takes advice from the men and women on the ground, the commanders in the field.”
“A disorganized retreat would jeopardize the track record of major successes this administration has worked hard to compile,” McConnell said to reiterate his opposition to peace.
However, it has been well-established that the Afghanistan war has been a disaster since its outset, and even the military experts admit that the war effort has been lost in private:
A report released by the Washington Post on Monday has confirmed the obvious: officials in the deep state and the intelligence community have been deliberately lying to the public about the war in Afghanistan for many years. Journalists perused 2,000 pages of interviews obtained due to a Freedom of Information Act request. In those documents, they discovered that influential U.S. officials have known that the war was a losing effort for years. These perspectives were largely suppressed to the public so the agenda preferred by the military-industrial complex could continue. “If the American people knew the magnitude of this dysfunction … 2,400 lives lost. Who will say this was in vain?” said retired Army Lt. Gen. Douglas Lute, who advised former presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama on Afghanistan policy, in a Feb. 2015 interview. Bob Crowley, a former counterinsurgency adviser in Afghanistan from 2013 to 2014, noted that the “truth was rarely welcome” within a military bureaucracy that “just wanted to hear good news, so bad news was often stifled.” “Every data point was altered to present the best picture possible,” Crowley said. “Surveys, for instance, were totally unreliable but reinforced that everything we were doing was right, and we became a self-licking ice cream cone. ” Lt. Col. Daniel Davis confirmed that Pentagon brass and other interventionist officials knew the war was unwinnable, but knowingly perpetrated lies and allowed troops to die needlessly for a lost cause. “This stuff has been known,” Davis said. “It was known at all levels,” he added. “They have known from the beginning that the war was unwinnable, but they continued to say the exact opposite.” “How many more men still have to die before we finally do the right thing?” he asked. President Donald Trump has regularly acknowledged the obvious about the Afghanistan war. He has pushed in recent months, at least rhetorically, to bring the troops home from the mountainous nation frequently referred to as the “graveyard of empires.” “Seriously, who gives a s— about Afghanistan?” Trump said, according to a recent book, “Holding the Line: Inside Trump’s Pentagon with Secretary Mattis.” “So far we’re in for $7 trillion, fellas … $7 trillion including Iraq. Worst decision ever and we’re stuck with it,” he reportedly added. “We don’t have to fight these endless wars. We’re bringing it back home. That’s what I won on. And some people, whether you call it the military industrial complex, or beyond that, they’d like me to stay. One of the problems I have and one of, for instance with the witch hunt, you have people that want me to stay. They want me to fight forever. They do very well fighting. That’s what they want to do. Fight. A lot of companies want to fight because they make their weapons based on fighting, not based on peace and they take care of a lot of people,” Trump said at a press conference in October.
The Republican Party is holding President Trump back. He needs to bring the troops home even if it offends the GOP establishment losers.

BREAKING: Trump Orders Pentagon To Pull 2,500 U.S. Troops From Afghanistan And Iraq

    By Allan Miller | Nov 17, 2020

President Trump has ordered the Pentagon to pull 2,500 U.S. troops from Afghanistan and Iraq by mid-January, acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller announced on Tuesday.

The Defense Department will cut the number of troops in Afghanistan from 4,500 to 2,500 and the number of forces in Iraq from 3,000 to 2,500. The decision “comes at the recommendation” of Trump’s “senior-most military officials,” a senior defense official told reporters ahead of Miller’s announcement.

The official would not say which senior military officials had conferred with the president and said it was a “collaborative decision.”

The drawdown order comes only a week after Trump fired previous Defense Secretary Mark Esper and replaced him with Miller.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the Trump administration has made tremendous headway against terrorist threats, but warned against a potentially “humiliating” pullout from Afghanistan that he said would be worse than President Barack Obama’s 2011 withdrawal from Iraq and reminiscent of the U.S. departure from Saigon in 1975.
Rep. Michael McCaul, Republican leader on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said of the plans for Afghanistan, “We need to ensure a residual force is maintained for the foreseeable future to protect U.S. national and homeland security interests and to help secure peace for Afghanistan.”

Trump’s new Pentagon chief, Christopher Miller, hinted at the troop withdrawals over the weekend in a carefully worded message to the force.

“We remain committed to finishing the war that al-Qaida brought to our shores in 2001,” he said, and warned that “we must avoid our past strategic error of failing to see the fight through to the finish.”
But Miller also made it clear that “all wars must end.”
“This fight has been long, our sacrifices have been enormous. and many are weary of war — I’m one of them,” he said. ”Ending wars requires compromise and partnership. We met the challenge; we gave it our all. Now, it’s time to come home.”
The accelerated withdrawal, however, goes against the longstanding advice of Trump’s military leadership, including Marine Gen. Frank McKenzie, top U.S. commander for the Middle East. But officials suggested that commanders will be able to live with the partial pullout, which allows them to keep counterterrorism troops in Afghanistan and gives them time to remove critical equipment fro the country.
Military officials also have warned that there is a large amount of critical, classified equipment in Afghanistan that must be removed, but it will take time. They also say that any full U.S. withdrawal needs to be coordinated with other coalition allies that have troops in the country.
The White House, however, issued a series of statements about Afghanistan over the past month. Trump on Oct. 7 tweeted that “we should have the small remaining number of our BRAVE Men and Women serving in Afghanistan home by Christmas.” When asked about those comments, Robert O’Brien, his national security adviser, said Trump was just expressing a hope.

    Bring our troops home!

    Cut off the money!

    Send their refugees back now!

They have been fighting and breeding in the rubble for 1000s of years...they must LOVE to live like this!

Why should we loose our blood and treasure for these violent vermin?

They hate each other, they rape and pillage, they have NO joy in life. Get us out of there and send them back to their misery.

They hate the USA, they bring their overbreeding misery here.

They will be at war another 50 years.

When they have peace, diversify their own country, have jobs and prosperity...THEN they can be "invited" to come here. Not until then.

NO NO NO NO MORE WARS...NO MORE PEOPLE!

Rockets Target US Embassy In Baghdad Just As Trump Ordered Troop Draw Down

    Tue, 11/17/2020 - 17:20

Coming less than within an hour of President Trump announcing his troop draw down order in Iraq and Afghanistan Tuesday afternoon, a hail of rockets fell near the US embassy in Baghdad.
Local and regional reports say at least five rockets were fired on the fortified Green Zone in Iraq's capital and that four struck near the American compound.

The US embassy's C-RAM system, or "Counter rocket, artillery, and mortar" defense weapon, was activated in response to the inbound rocket fire.
The timing seems clearly intentional, given international headlines at that very moment circulated the US announced plans to reduce its troop levels in Iraq.
Trump ordered the Pentagon to accelerate a drawdown of US troops in Afghanistan and Iraq to 2,500 , as the president works to deliver on his longtime pledge to exit from "endless wars" before he leaves office January 20. Current estimates put US troop levels in Iraq at over 3,000.
In both Iraq and Afghanistan Trump's advisers have reportedly been urging the commander-in-chief to avoid pulling everyone out, reducing US presence down to 'zero'.

American generals have feared in the case of Iraq a dramatic rapid US exit would fully cede the country to Iranian influence - however, Tehran's influence was assured the moment the Bush administration overthrew Iran's worst enemy Saddam Hussein in 2003.
Past rocket attacks on the US embassy, which almost never score direct hits or cause injuries on American personnel - also given its advanced anti-rocket defense systems are on alert and frequently activated - have been widely blamed on Iran-backed Iraqi Shia militia.
There are reports from correspondents on the ground saying at least one young Iraqi civilian was killed and five other Iraqis injured as a result of the attack:
"Rocket attacks in Baghdad tonight as US announces troop drawdown. A baby was killed, 5 Iraqis were wounded. Attacks on US-linked interests in Iraq have killed at least 9 people since late last year. Most were Iraqi," said Washington Post's Louisa Loveluck.

Meanwhile, it seems every time the White House pushes for a sizeable Mideast troop exit, a series of conflict incidents serves to keep the US bogged down and present.
