ANOTHER PERSON WHO ALLEGEDLY HAS KNOWLEDGE OF KAVANAUGH ACCUSER’S ASSAULT HAS ‘NO RECOLLECTION’ OF BEING AT PARTY

The woman believed to be the “missing” party guest at the high school gathering where Christine Blasey Ford alleges Judge Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her over 35 years ago reportedly has no recollection of the incident, her lawyer said in a statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Saturday.

Leland Keyser, a reported longtime friend of Ford’s, denied knowing Kavanaugh or having any knowledge of attending a party with him, according to CNN.

“Simply put, Ms. Keyser does not know Mr. Kavanaugh and she has no recollection of ever being at a party or gathering where he was present, with, or without, Dr. Ford,” said Howard Walsh, Keyser’s attorney.

In a Washington Post article, Ford said there were three individuals at the party in addition to herself and Kavanaugh — Mark Judge, Patrick Smyth and another person. Both Judge and Smyth have also denied having any memory or knowledge surrounding the incident. Keyser is believed to be the third person in question.

Kavanaugh has also denied Ford’s accusation.

“I categorically and unequivocally deny this allegation,” Kavanaugh said in a statement released by the White House. “I did not do this back in high school or at any time.”

Mrs. Ford is either a Wack-O-Doodle nut job or a terrible con artist. Either way, this is over, and the US Senate must proceed to vote to confirm this wonderful man, Brett Kavanaugh, before Friday, so he can be sworn in by Friday and be ready for his important new work on Monday October 1.

The US Senate can not let our country's highest court be manipulated or held hostage like this. It is wrong, you must proceed to a vote and confirm him. Anything other than no longer reflects on him, it reflects on the US Senate.

NOW, GET YOUR JOB DONE and put this nonsense to an immediate end.

"Lifelong Friend" Of Kavanaugh Accuser Denies Attending Party Where Alleged Sexual Assault Occurred

Keyser's statement "seemed to eliminate any chance of corroboration of Dr. Blasey’s account"

A woman believed to have been one of five people at a party some 35 years ago where Christine Blasey Ford claims she was sexually assaulted by Brett Kavanaugh has become the fourth person to deny any recollection of the event.

In a Saturday night email to the Senate Judiciary Committee also received by several news outlets, Leland Ingham Keyser - a "longtime friend" of Blasey Ford's said through her attorney:
"Simply put, Ms. Keyser does not know Mr. Kavanaugh and she has no recollection of ever being at a party or gathering where he was present, with, or without, Dr. Ford," said Keyser's attorney Howard Walsh, who has been "engaged in the limited capacity" of corresponding with the committee on behalf of Keyser, according to Politico.

Kavanaugh and Mark Judge - the other teenager allegedly in the room during the alleged sexual assault - have both stated that they have no recollection of the incident, while a third man who Ford claims was at the party - Patrick J. Smyth, also denied any recollection of the event, telling the Judiciary Committee last week in a statement: "I understand that I have been identified by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford as the person she remembers as 'PJ' who supposedly was present at the party she described in her statements to the Washington Post," Smyth wrote in his statement. "I am issuing this statement today to make it clear to all involved that I have no knowledge of the party in question; nor do I have any knowledge of the allegations of improper conduct she has leveled against Brett Kavanaugh."
Smyth added: "Personally speaking, I have known Brett Kavanaugh since high school and I know him to be a person of great integrity, a great friend, and I have never witnessed any improper conduct by Brett Kavanaugh towards women. To safeguard my own privacy and anonymity, I respectfully request that the Committee accept this statement in response to any inquiry the Committee may have."

The Senate should be negotiating with Ford for a written apology from her to Brett Kavanaugh and his wife and children.
    10:52 PM - Sep 22, 2018

On Saturday night, a tentative deal was reached for Ford to testify publicly on Thursday, according to the New York Times.
After a brief call late on Saturday, the woman’s lawyers and aides to Senator Charles E. Grassley of Iowa, the Republican chairman of the Judiciary Committee, planned to talk again Sunday morning to continue the halting negotiations over the conditions of the testimony, according to three people familiar with the call. Aides to Senator Dianne Feinstein of California, the committee’s top Democrat, were also involved. -NY Times
The Times notes, however, that Leland Keyser's statement "seemed to eliminate any chance of corroboration of Dr. Blasey’s account by anyone who attended the high school party where she says she was assaulted."
If no deal is reached for Blasey Ford's testimony next week, Sen. Grassley will be left to decide on Sunday whether or not to move ahead with a scheduled vote to confirm Kavanaugh on Monday.
Grassley has engaged in a back-and-forth with Ford's legal team, allowing them to miss several deadlines to continue negotiations. While Grassley may be trying to avoid the appearance of the Judiciary Committee panel of 11 men bullying an female victim alleging sexual assault, many conservatives have expressed frustration at the Chairman's acquiescence to virtually every demand Ford has made.

I can not believe the US Senate has delayed something as important as the confirmation of a nominee for appointment to the US Supreme Court over the wild unsubstantiated claims of what is clearly either a nut job Wack-O-Doodle or the worst con artist in the the country. She doesn't know when, where, with whom, what year, what season, whose house, what town, what city, what month, what day, who was there, why she was there with 4 boys, why any of this which is not surprising that she couldn't remember it for 36 years, because it didn't happen to begin with. This is some dream, some medication induced nonsense in some really bad therapy session 6 years ago.

Kangaroo Court – Christine Ford’s Attorney Agrees to Testimony(?) – Michael Bromwich Joins Ford Legal Team…

    Posted on September 22, 2018
    by sundance

The professional political-left have turned the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh into an absolute kangaroo court. The latest reports are that Ms. Christine Blasey-Ford has agreed to a senate hearing next week, well, maybe.

A letter from Team Ford (outlined below) carried multiple caveats and vague terms for appearance that cast doubts on the seriousness of the accuser to appear.
Additionally, and with another level of bizarre overlay, Michael Bromwich is now joining Debra Katz to represent Ms. Ford.
Michael Bromwich was/is the legal counsel of fired FBI Director Andrew McCabe; and Bromwich’s appearance within the current scheme only serves to underline the political nature of the current resistance maneuvering to block a Brett Kavanaugh confirmation. Bromwich is directly connected to the usurping Lawfare group leading the DC resistance. At this point, the fiasco is an embarrassment upon the Senate; then again, that’s likely part of the strategy.
Perhaps strongly plausible – Team Ford is paying off the legal debts of McCabe hence the hiring and representation of Bromwich as part of a reciprocity deal. According to CNN insider Laura Jarrett, Bromwich has to resign from his law firm to join Team Ford.

News - former DOJ inspector general Michael Bromwich has joined Christine Blasey Ford’s legal team. (Note he also represents former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe). He has just resigned from his law firm effective immediately in light of objections within the partnership.

Presumed Guilty: WSJ Opines On "The New Liberal Standard"

"the Democratic standard for sexual assault allegations is that they should be accepted as true merely for having been made."

    Sun, 09/23/2018 - 13:05
    116 SHARES

The Wall Street Journal editorial board has penned a scathing Op-Ed, claiming that "the Democratic standard for sexual assault allegations is that they should be accepted as true merely for having been made."

The Journal says that while the last-minute accusation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is an "ugly spectacle" by itself - liberals have abandoned the entire notion of due process and the burden of proof in order to fit a political agenda.
    Via the Wall Street Journal:

    The Presumption of Guilt

The new liberal standard turns American due process upside down.

“As Judge Kavanaugh stands to gain the lifetime privilege of serving on the country’s highest court, he has the burden of persuasion. And that is only fair.”
    —Anita Hill, Sept. 18, 2018
“Not only do women like Dr. Ford, who bravely comes forward, need to be heard, but they need to be believed.”
    —Sen. Maize Hirono (D., Hawaii)
The last-minute accusation of sexual assault against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is an ugly spectacle by any measure. But if there is a silver lining, it is that the episode is providing an education for Americans on the new liberal standard of legal and political due process.
As Ms. Hill and Sen. Hirono aver, the Democratic standard for sexual-assault allegations is that they should be accepted as true merely for having been made. The accuser is assumed to be telling the truth because the accuser is a woman. The burden is on Mr. Kavanaugh to prove his innocence. If he cannot do so, then he is unfit to serve on the Court.
    ***

This turns American justice and due process upside down. The core tenet of Anglo-American law is that the burden of proof always rests with the person making the accusation. An accuser can’t doom someone’s freedom or career merely by making a charge.
The accuser has to prove the allegation in a court of law or in some other venue where the accused can challenge the facts. Otherwise we have a Jacobin system of justice in which “J’accuse” becomes the standard and anyone can be ruined on a whim or a vendetta.
Another core tenet of due process is that an accusation isn’t any more or less credible because of the gender, race, religion or ethnicity of who makes it. A woman can lie, as the Duke lacrosse players will tell you. Ms. Hirono’s standard of credibility by gender would have appalled the civil-rights campaigners of a half century ago who marched in part against Southern courts that treated the testimony of black Americans as inherently less credible than that of whites. Yet now the liberal heirs of those marchers want to impose a double standard of credibility by gender.
A third tenet of due process is the right to cross-examine an accuser. The point is to test an accuser’s facts and credibility, which is why we have an adversarial system. The denial of cross-examination is a major reason that campus panels adjudicating sexual-assault claims have become kangaroo courts.
It’s worth quoting from the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling this month in Doe v. Baum on a sexual-assault case at the University of Michigan.
“Due process requires cross-examination in circumstances like these because it is ‘the greatest legal engine ever invented’ for uncovering the truth,” wrote Judge Amul Thapar. “Not only does cross-examination allow the accused to identify inconsistencies in the other side’s story, but it also gives the fact-finder an opportunity to assess a witness’s demeanor and determine who can be trusted. So if a university is faced with competing narratives about potential misconduct, the administration must facilitate some form of cross-examination in order to satisfy due process.”
    ***

Consider the limited facts of Christine Blasey Ford’s accusation against Judge Kavanaugh. It concerns an event some 36 years ago that she recalls in only partial detail. She remembers the alleged assault and rooms she entered with some specificity, but not the home where it occurred. She doesn’t know how she traveled to or from the home that evening.
She told no one about the incident for 30 years until a couples therapy session with her husband. Her therapist’s notes say there were four assailants but she says there were only two. Two of the three other people she says were at the drinking party that night say they know nothing about the party or the assault, and Mr. Kavanaugh denies it categorically.
Democrats claim that even asking questions about these facts is somehow an unfair attack on her as a woman. Her lawyer is demanding that Ms. Ford testify after Mr. Kavanaugh, and that only Senators ask questions—no doubt to bar Republicans from having a female special counsel ask those questions.
We’re told Ms. Ford even wants to bar any questions about why she waited so long to recall the alleged assault and who she consulted in finally going public this year. Such a process is designed to obscure the truth, not to discover it. None of these demands should be tolerable to Senators who care about finding the truth about a serious accusation.
We don’t doubt that Ms. Ford believes what she claims. But the set of facts she currently provides wouldn’t pass even the “preponderance of evidence”—or 50.01% evidence of guilt—test that prevails today on college campuses. If this is the extent of her evidence and it is allowed to defeat a Supreme Court nominee, a charge of sexual assault will become a killer political weapon regardless of facts. And the new American standard of due process will be the presumption of guilt.
