Trump's lawyer calls for Russia probe to be shut down

President Trump’s personal attorney John Dowd called on Saturday for FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe to be shut down, hours after ex-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was fired.

“I pray that Acting Attorney General Rosenstein will follow the brilliant and courageous example of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility and Attorney General Jeff Sessions and bring an end to alleged Russia Collusion investigation manufactured by McCabe’s boss James Comey based upon a fraudulent and corrupt Dossier,” he said in a statement to Fox News.

“Just end it on the merits in light of recent revelations,” he added.

Rosenstein is overseeing the probe after Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from any investigation related to Russia and the Trump campaign. Dowd said he made the remarks in his personal capacity and not on behalf of the president.

His remarks came hours after the Justice Department fired former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe after an IG report found that he made an unauthorized leak to the media and then "lacked candor" when speaking about it it investigators.

Trump called the move a "great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI" in a tweet early Saturday.

McCabe hit back at the move in a statement Friday, calling his firing part of an "ongoing war at the FBI."

"This attack on my credibility is one part of a larger effort not just to slander me personally, but to taint the FBI, law enforcement, and intelligence professionals more generally," McCabe said. "It is part of this Administration’s ongoing war on the FBI and the efforts of the Special Counsel investigation, which continue to this day. Their persistence in this campaign only highlights the importance of the Special Counsel’s work.

Oh please yes! This is the most outrageous "probe" of a Russia Collusion Hoax, completely manufactured by Clinton and the DNC in cahoots with the FBI/DOJ and its "secret society" that probably includes, most likely includes Rob Rosenstein and Robert Mueller and must be shut down!! There is no collusion, and even if there was collusion, collusion to win an election is a coalition of free speech and free association and not only perfectly legal it's protected rights under the First Amendment!!

Our country was founded with Americans colluding with the French. Obama flew to Germany and colluded with the Germans apologizing for the United States. Marine Le Pen flew to Moscow and colluded with Putin. Trump flew to Mexico and colluded with the Mexicans to end illegal immigration and fix our bad trade deals. Nigel Farage colluded with Trump at Trump Rallies. Trump colluded with the Brits while in Scotland to encourage passage of Brexit! All during the campaign. We are a free nation of free people. We can meet with, speak with, collude with, associate with anyone we want for any purpose including winning elections. Don Jr can meet with anyone he chooses to to discuss anything he wants. So can Trump, Ivanka, and his campaign staff. Jeff Sessions was a US Senator and free to do likewise. So can Carter Page and George P and Michael Flynn and every other American in this country.

Absolutely!! And then call a big meeting with Putin and get things on track for a new and improved relationship with the Russians. We need to be united with the Russians during the meetings with North Korea if they occur. We need both Russia and China on our side. Russia has never hurt US. They don't flood us with illegal aliens, they don't cheat us on trade, they don't threaten us with military attacks. Sure they work on cyber-warfare, so do we. I mean if we don't know by now how to shut down their grid, we need to fire everyone in the CIA and get some smart people in there who know the priorities of national defense. I'm telling you, we will really like the Russians, we're not going to agree on everything, but we're going to agree on most things, the important things. We have room and capacity in our world view to work with the Russians, China and Europe, all at the same time. It's not one versus the other. We aren't groupies, we aren't group think, we're a nation of individuals who at our core want to be friends and have good relations for both politics and business with everybody. Sometimes, you have to choose sides, but there is nothing going on now anywhere that commands we take a side against Russia. Just my opinion.
