4 Arrested in Connection to Illegal Voting in Starr Co.

RIO GRANDE CITY – Four men are in custody and charged with illegal voting in Starr County.

Oscar Ivan Pena, 23, Rigoberto Vela, 47, Reynaldo Moreno, 48, and Rogelio Garcia, 42, were arrested.

They were under felony supervision when they voted in 2016.

All had signed a document titled “Gun Control Act of 1968.”

A section in the document explained voting while under felony community supervision was not allowed.

Three of the four men are out on bond Tuesday night.

Vela is behind bars on another warrant.
