U.S. Retail Sales Unexpectedly Drop as Jobs Evaporate

April 14 (Bloomberg) -- Retail sales in the U.S. unexpectedly fell in March as soaring job losses forced consumers to pull back.

The 1.1 percent decrease followed a 0.3 percent gain in February that was stronger than previously estimated, the Commerce Department said today in Washington. Auto dealers, electronics stores and restaurants led the decline.

Less consumer spending heading into the second quarter means the recession is likely to persist. Still, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke said today there are signs that the “sharp declineâ€

Sounds strikingly similar to the load of crap they just reported on our local morning show a few minutes ago about how "obama says" the US economy is turning around and is expected to report on the "good news" during some news conference or another.

I think Obama is supposed to do a news conference today just in time to feed us some propaganda before the tea parties.

I think Obama is supposed to do a news conference today just in time to feed us some propaganda before the tea parties.

Let's just hope that his propaganda will give us bigger numbers for the tea parties. I hope to God he brings up immigration. That will wake up the unemployed masses.

I think he's already churned out his daily propaganda to the public. I heard something come on earlier...........and it clicked off just as he said "Good Morning" because I refuse to listen to a single word that comes out of his mouth.
