Under Reporting of Crime Project - UROC

February 12, 2011
San Francisco Examiner

Under reporting of crime for political purposes and gain has always existed in America.

As the country and the culture have become more politicized, political correctness has become a too frequent component of public discourse and as the political elite seek to protect millions of illegal immigrants from law enforcement, the under reporting of illegal immigrant crime has become commonplace.

The goal of the 9/11 FSA UROC Project is to collect testimony from retired and active duty police executives and officers about known instances where Police Departments have been told directly, or indirectly, by city government to reduce crime statistics by reducing the reporting of crime. Anonymous testimony will be included.

FBI crime statistics are inaccurate if reporting agencies are not accurate.

Agency budgets cannot be effectively allocated without an accurate accounting of crime within the jurisdiction.

Community safety and officer safety are jeopardized by the politicization of crime reporting.

And we are specifically interested in the under reporting of crime in, so called "Sanctuary Cities" or areas of a community where the population is made up of illegal immigrants.

What the UROC Project hopes to learn about the under reporting of crime:

* Where it is and has been done. (Along with identifying the victims of under reporting.)
* Why it is and has been done.
* How it is and has been done.
* How citizens can detect the under reporting of crime in their communities.
* How this affects local and national law enforcement activities.
* How it affects the moral and effectiveness of officers in the department.
* How it results in understated FBI crime statistics and the effect it has on national law enforcement with regard to resources allocation.
* What can be done to restore credibility to crime reporting statistics.

Let’s work together to bring integrity back to the reporting of crime.

Let's work together to make our communities safer for U.S. citizens and our streets much safer for our law enforcement and police officers.

If you are an active duty or retired police officer/executive and have information you wish to share with us, please contact us. Confidentiality is guaranteed.
