Stimulus, Social Security add to our enormous financial burden
2:00 a.m. March 9, 2009
Better late than never. It took a while, but Americans – or at least some of them – have finally gotten around to talking about the monstrous financial burden that we're leaving our children, our grandchildren and, in all likelihood, our great-grandchildren.
Like Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who delivered the Republican response to President Obama's address to Congress last month. Addressing the poorly crafted and irresponsible $787 billion Democratic stimulus bill, Jindal said the legislation would “grow the government, increase our taxes down the line, and saddle future generations with debt.â€NO AMNESTY

Welll...oh...my gosh! We just couldn't change the "Family Reunification Policy" that is eating away our future through SSI payments to foreign retirees, could we? Or start collecting actual taxes from deabeat highrollers?
What was I thinking?"Men of low degree are vanity, Men of high degree are a lie. " David

Fixed income senior here with over 80 years of work combined with spouse, we draw far less then my father in SS and yet we paid in twice what he did, I draw 1/3 of what John McCain does or taking at face value what the press reports. Having lived on the border I have seen young women with citizen children draw more then I. SS has been misused, mismanaged like all things in government, ss is used as a broad welfare rather then an earned retirement.
I'm old with many opinions few solutions.
