In New Orleans, aid offered by the city of Chicago, individual Floridians, drivers bringing fresh drinking water, all was turned away while FEMA asserted its authority and revealed its dictatorial methods.

FEMA is another bureaucracy that the US can do without.

According to KVUE-TV, the state of Texas, under Gov. Rick Perry, cut state funding for the volunteer fire departments that protect most of the state from wildfires. Firefighters have actually been dipping into their own pockets to fight fires.
