Daytime high temperatures will hit the 77-78 degree range in San Diego on Saturday, and 80 to 81 on Sunday.
The average this time of year is 65. Once again, a high pressure system has set up off the West Coast. It's steering storms away from San Diego County, which received a soaking last weekend from a robust system that was able to slip beneath the high pressure.
This pattern is going to be with us through at least March 15, says the National Weather Service. The daytime high will hit 70 or above the next 9 days or so in San Diego, and there will be days when the temperature hits 80 or higher across some inland valleys and foothills. The marine layer will yo-yo back and forth, but it won't become very deep over the next few days.
Solspot.com says the surf will be in the 5' to 8' range on Saturday at the favored spots in South County, and 3' to 5' in some areas of North County. But the surf will drop by half or more on Sunday as a swell out of the west-northwest quickly dies out. Sea surface temperatures are in the 60-62 degree range.
