White House Announces Billion-Dollar Plan To Expand Healthcare Workforce

The White House has announced up to $1 billion for a program to support healthcare innovation, cut costs and improve care, Reuters reported. http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/11/ ... 5M20111114

According to the news outlet, funding from the program will be given to doctors, government organizations and groups involved with Medicaid and Medicare that have ideas on how to fix the system.

The Washington Post reported that the funds are for experimenting with different ways to expand the healthcare workforce while possibly reducing the cost of delivering medical services.
